Legendary Fish Mission Walkthrough
Interaction With Jeremy Gill
To begin this journey, you must head to the dock where Jeremy Gill awaits. This spot can be found along the northeastern coast of Flat Iron Lake. Depending on your current position, it could be more convenient to approach this area from the southeast of Flatneck Station.
Upon meeting Gill at the mentioned location, he will start to brag about how famous he is. Due to his reputation, he’s used to collecting quite a penny by sending stuffed fish to his customers.
Unfortunately, his business model is being bottlenecked by the amount of fish he can collect. Therefore, he needs outside help. After explaining this scenario, Jeremy will hand a map to Arthur.
This piece of paper contains the approximate location of the 13 most legendary fish found throughout the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s up to you to catch them and bring them back to Jeremy for a reward.
Catching The Legendary Fish
There are a total of 13 Legendary fish in the seas of RDR2. At the same time, none of them are an easy catch. Knowing the exact how-tos can help you go a long way, nonetheless.
With that said, here is what you need to know in order to catch the 13 Legendary Fish in Red Dead Redemption 2:
1. Legendary Bluegill
This fish is located in the southern part of Clemens Point. But before heading there, you need to source the Special Lake Lure in order to catch them.
This can be found at the Bait Shop located in Lagras once you’ve accepted A Fisher of Fish mission. Make sure to purchase at least seven of these as there are a total of seven Legendary fish that are attracted by this bait.
The reference to the Legendary Bluegill is present when you accept Kieran’s offer to go fishing somewhere around chapter 3. While heading to fish, you discover a naked stranger within the lake that will notify you about the Legendary Bluegill.
2. Legendary Largemouth Bass
The Legendary Largemouth Bass is located near the southeast of Lake Don Julio. Just keep heading there until the shore of the San Luis River is visible. This area can also be approached from the new Austin.
Similar in nature to the Legendary Bluegill, this one also requires you to use a Special River Lure. Therefore, be sure to pack some with you before heading out.
3. Legendary Perch
This one is found in Elysian Lake, directly to the southwest of Annesburg. This area is located in Roanoke Ridge, present within New Hanover. Once you’re there, get your fishing equipment ready, and equip the Special River Lure.
Depending on how you’re able to catch it, the Legendary Perch can either be the easiest one or the most annoyingly painful chore of your RDR2 experience. Just be sure not to let the opportunity slip by.
4. Legendary Redfin Pickerel
The Legendary Redfin Pickerel can either be caught independently, or you can catch it as a part of A Fisher of Fish. If you’re not going the latter route, then be sure to source your Special Lake Lure, as it won’t budge without it.
Having said that, you would need to head to Stillwater Creek in order to find the largest pool. From there, just equip your rod with the Special Lake Lure and get it done with!
5. Legendary Rock Bass
Legendary Rock Bass is also a fish that requires the Special Lake Lure to be caught. Just head to the Aurora Basin, and move towards the head part of the Lower Montana River.
Now, keep heading to the Tall Trees Region until you reach the western portion of Elizabeth, and you’re pretty much good to go when it comes to catching the Legendary Rock Bass.
6. Legendary Smallmouth Bass
The Legendary Smallmouth bass can be bought in Lake Owanjiula – given that you have the Special Lake Lure. Its designated area is located near the western Elizabeth.
Just keep heading to the western portion of Strawberry, and stop once you reach the area in the middle of the Big Valley and the Tall Trees.
7. Legendary Sockeye Salmon
Caught either independently or as a part of A Fisher of Fish quest, the Legendary Sockeye Salmon is found in Lake Isabella. This region is a bit cold, so pack your winter attire.
Once that is done, keep heading to the northwest of Valentine until you reach the Grizzlies West of Ambarion in order to find this Lake. As always, you would need a Special Lake Lure for this one, so source it beforehand!
8. Legendary Bullhead Catfish
You can find the Legendary Bullhead Catfish in Creek Deitas located on the western side of Sisika Penitentiary. This area is located on Sisika Island, and is generally pretty easy to find.
Be sure to activate A Fisher of Fish quest before heading here since you’ll be needing the Special River Lure for this one as well.
9. Legendary Chain Pickerel
The Legendary Chain Pickerel is located to the Southeast of the R in Dakota River. Alternatively, you can also approach it from the Northwest of Flatneck station within the Dakota River.
Once there, use the Special River Lure, and wait for the opportune time to pull out of the waters.
10. Legendary Muskie
Head to the southern part of the Van horn Trading Post – just near the Hanover, and use the Special River Lure to pull the Legendary Muskie out of the waters.
This fish can only be caught once you’ve started A Fisher of Fish mission.
11. Legendary Steelhead Trout
The Legendary Steelhead Trout is located in the northeastern corner of New Hanover. Just move up the Kamassa river through the direction of Brandywine Drop and head to the basin located towards the northern area of Annesburg.
Use the Special River Lure to grab hold of it, and you’re pretty much good to go.
12. Legendary Longnose Gar
The Legendary Longnose Gar is located in the northern area of Lagras Lake in Lemoyne. Move towards the south of R in Lagras, and you’ll be able to find the spot.
Be mindful of all the crocodiles in the lake, and don’t directly dive into the water. Once you’re there, just use the Special Reive Lure, and pull it out of the waters.
13. Legendary Catfish
This fish is located in the Creek Deltas in the western area of Sisika, and is similar in nature to the Legendary Bullhead Catfish. Since both of them are found in the same waters, we recommend you bring twice the amount of bait.
Once all the fish are caught, store them in your inventory, and head back to Jeremy Gill to claim your reward.
At this point, Jeremy will invite you on a trip to Rio Bravo, and you’ll be able to find the Legendary Channel Catfish. It’s worth mentioning that you need to reach Epilogue 1 in order to access this trip, as well as the Legendary Channel Catfish in Red Dead Redemption 2.
