Rota is the Helheim Valkyrie in God of War. She is a very powerful opponent like the other Valkyries in the game and should not be taken lightly. In order to defeat her, you need to learn her moves and attack patterns. In this God of War guide, we are going to walk you through how you can defeat Rota.
If you have not read our previous Valkyrie guides then there are a few things that you need to do before the encounter with Rota. Firstly, make sure that your Runic attack meter is full. This can be used to deal a lot of damage early on. Initiate the fight with these attacks to get a head start.
Secondly, you need to fill up your Spartan Rage meter. This will allow you to deal a lot of damage. It also heals you. Having a resurrection stone can also come in handy. If you die while holding one then Atreus can use it to bring you back to life. You can buy these but you can only carry one at a time.
How To Kill Rota In God Of War
Killing Rota is pretty easy once you know which moves she is going to use against you. The following are all her moves and how you can counter them.
Ranged Attacks
Rota will jump into the air and start throwing Yellow disks at Kratos. This attack can be blocked. Once she is done throwing these projectiles, she will jump at Kratos. You can dodge this jump and get out of the way.
At times she will jump into the air and dive at Kratos without throwing the projectiles. She will scream before doing this, so beware. Dodge when she screams. She will do this three times.
In both cases, she will be vulnerable when she comes back to the ground. So you can deal some damage then.
Stomp Attack
Like other Valkyries in God of War, Rota can use the stomp attack as well and this is a very powerful move. She will go into the air and move out of sight. When she does this you need to dodge. Listen for the scream. This will tell you when you need to dodge. She can do this a couple of times but she is vulnerable when she lands back down so you can deal some damage.
Wing Attacks
Like other Valkyries in God of War, Rota can use her wings to attack Kratos. These moves can be blocked. She will follow up with attacks that cannot be blocked so be sure to dodge them. In the end, she will be open to attacks.
Dash Attack
Rota dashes forward and tries to stab Kratos. This attack cannot be blocked and you will need to dodge it.
