In order to defeat Gunnr, the Valkyrie in Thamur’s Corpse in God of War, you need to memorize her attack patterns. You need to dodge and evade her attacks and counter them with your own. In this God Of War Valkyrie guide, we are going to walk you through how you can kill Gunnr.
If you have not read our previous Valkyrie guides then there are a few things that you need to do before the encounter with Gunnr. Firstly, make sure that your Runic attack meter is full. This can be used to deal a lot of damage early on. Initiate the fight with these attacks to get a head start.
Secondly, you need to fill up your Spartan Rage meter. This will allow you to deal a lot of damage. It also heals you. Having a resurrection stone can also come in handy. If you die while holding one then Atreus can use it to bring you back to life. You can buy these but you can only carry one at a time.
How To Kill Gunnr In God Of War Valkyrie
In order to defeat Gunner, you need to know about her attacks and moves. Here are her attacks and how you can counter them in order to finish her off quickly.
Scythe Dive
Gunner will jump into the air and try to dive towards Kratos to attack with her Sythe. You can dodge this move. If you are quick, you can fire arrows at her while she is in the air to interrupt her attack. You can even parry this attack. In order to do so double tap L1 right before she strikes. You will see the Yellow circle before the attack.
Dash Attack
Gunnr will dash across the room and close the gap between her and Kratos. She will attack Kratos with her scythe. This attack can be dodged or parried. This is similar to the dive attack and you have to press L1 twice before the attack. Timing is going to be key here if you are going for a parry.
Wings And Scythe Attacks
Gunner attacks Kratos with her wings. These attacks can be blocked and you can do some damage after she is done. She can also attack with her scythe after she is done attacking with her wings. These attacks can be dodged or parried as well.
Stab Attacks
Gunnr will try to dash across the room in an attempt to stab Kratos. This move cannot be dodged and you will see the Red circle right before it. You will need to dodge this move.
