Killing the mountain Valkyrie in God of War called Eir can be very simple. Provided that you have learned her attacks and are able to unleash Krato’s might when needed. In this guide, we are going to walk you through how you can kill Eir in God of War by reading her moves and countering them.
Before you start the fight there are a couple of things that you need to keep in mind that can help you. First, you need to fill your Runic attack meters. Use Runic attacks to start the encounter with the Valkrie as they are vulnerable and you can do massive damage from the get-go.
If your meter is not full you can just stand there and wait for the meter to fill up. Once it is full, you can start the fight. The second thing that you need to do is fill up your Spartan Rage meter. This does a lot of damage and also heals you. You can use this to deal a lot of damage to the Valkyrie and heal Kratos. If the meter is not full then you can go back and kill some enemies.
Lastly, resurrection stones can come in handy when taking on a Valkyrie in God of War. If you die with a resurrection stone then press Square and Atreus will bring you back to life. You can buy these but you can only hold one at a time.

Air Attacks
Eir has a couple of attacks in which she will launch herself into the air. Here is what you need to know to counter these attacks.
Scythe Swing
Eir will dash towards Kratos from the air. She will use her scythe to deal damage. You can parry this attack and counter it with one of your own. A yellow circle will indicate this incoming attack.
Air Explosions
Eir jumps into the air and creates a massive explosion. You can interrupt this attack by firing arrows at her whenever she goes up into the air.
Ground Attacks
Not only can this valkyrie attack from the air but from the ground as well. Here is how you can counter the ground attacks.
Sliding Stab
One of Eir’s moves, while she is on the ground, is a slide. At the end of the slide, she will try to stab Kratos. This move cannot be blocked so you will need to dodge it every time.
Staff Attack
With her staff in hand, Eir will spin twice. She will damage Kratos both times and this is the attack that she uses most often. The first spin affects the area around her so you will need to dodge roll twice in order to get our of harm’s way. You can dodge roll again in order to avoid the second swing. This needs to be timed right for you to dodge both swings.
Wing Whip
Eir will whip Kratos with her wings from time to time. These attacks can be blocked. The number of times she uses this attack varies so keep that in mind when trying to counter this attack.
Wing Shield
The mountain Valkyrie in God of War can use her wings as a shield. Kratos can break the shield by pressing L1 twice. This will stagger her. You can do the same by using a charged strong attack or a Runic attack. You can wait it out too.
