Mission Requirements:

Rewards:

  • Gold Bars X 5

Walkthrough:

As you can see on our map above, Le Tresor Des Morts features only two maps you need to find, as the third location is the actual treasure.

This makes Le Tresor Des Morts Treasure Hunt, the shortest in the video game. Regardless, since there are 5 Gold Bars involved, we suggest you complete it the moment you reach Horseshoe Overlook at the start of the second chapter.

From the said camp head southeast to the first location on our map, where you should be able to find a burned settlement. If you look around you should see that most buildings are now ruins, except for two, which are barely standing.

The first one is the sheriff’s office, where you’ll find one of the hidden RDR2 lockboxes (under the sheriff’s desk). Make sure you open it because there is another Gold Bar inside.

The second building is the jailhouse, where you’ll find the first Le Tresor Des Morts Treasure Map. You can easily identify this building because is the only one made of bricks and stones.

The first treasure map is located inside the cell

Now that you find the document let’s take a closer look at it, to see where it leads.

Open the map by accessing your satchel, then open the map. It should look like this.

Time to visit the docks in Saint Denis, cowboy

The drawing on the map depicts a location quite easy to identify: the Saint-Denis docks. On our custom map, this location is marked by 2.

The moment you reach the docks, you’ll have to descend to the lowest level, close to the water. Your goal is to find a secret passage. In the following picture, you can see the path you need to follow. Notice that Arthur is moving under the docks.

Check the area under the docks

Simply enter the water and hug the right wall. Pay attention because as you advance you’ll see a gate on the wall to your right (also pictured).

Find the hidden gate under the Saint Denis docks

Open the gate and you’ll enter a dark hidden passage. Advance slowly and you’ll eventually find a wooden crate. You can’t miss it because there is only one.

While standing next to the crate, investigate the wall on the left to pick Le Tresor Des Morts Riddle Note.

Read and flip the Riddle Note to find the location of the treasure

Great, Arthur! Now open the Red Dead Redemption 2  Le Tresor Des Morts Riddle Note and let’s see where the Gold Bars are located. The note is identical to the one below.

When you read the note you should see the following riddle:

“Where the floods rise up

But the dead stay dry

And the colored light falls

When the sun’s in the sky.

There to your left, you’ll find our wealth

It’s no good to us without our health.”

While this riddle might look hard to solve, if you flip the note, you should find a drawing. The drawing depicts a window, and that window belongs a mausoleum found in the Saint-Denis cemetery.

Travel to the location we have marked above with 3, and enter the cemetery through the front gate. While standing near the large gazebo in the courtyard (facing it), turn left and follow the alley.

Your goal is to find the mausoleum pictured below. It should be on the right side of the alley.

Find this mausoleum in the Saint Denis Cemetery

If you approach the colored window, you can easily notice that the glass is similar to the one on the drawing. Now all you have to do is to go around this building, open the gate and check the left wall. Here you should see two black metal plates.

The upper one hides a hole in the wall. Slip your hand inside and you will find Le Tresor Des Morts.which consists of 5 Gold Bars.
