Smouldering Ember is a rare resource in God of War that you can use to craft items and upgrade your gear. We recommend getting this resource in order to improve the stats for Kratos and Atreus. In this God of War guide, we are going to go over how you can get Smouldering Ember.

Getting Smouldering Ember In God Of War

You can get Smouldering Ember by completing the trials in Muspelheim. You will need to defeat enemies and complete challenging objectives. At the end of the initial trials, you will need to beat the Muspelheim valkyrie, Gondul. You can check out our guide on beating her for more information. The fastest way of earning Smouldering Ember in the game is by completing the final Surtr’s Hidden Trial. 

In order to unlock it, you need to complete the trials first on the regular difficulty. This is going to unlock the higher difficulty. Once you have unlocked the impossible difficulty, you need to complete at least 3 trials. Once you do that you need to head over to the sword at the end in order to get the final Surtr’s Hidden Trial. 

As part of this trial, you need to defeat as many enemies as possible during the allotted time. If you get the bronze rank then you will earn 20 Smouldering Embers. Get the silver rank and you will earn 35 Smouldering Embers. Get the gold rank and you will earn 50 Smouldering Embers.
