The Copper in Far Cry: New Dawn is a very common material which is found usually in containers; however you’ll also get Copper when looting enemies or by trading the skins of specific animals and fishes.

According to this material’s in-game description, you can find it in containers, on enemies or by trading animal skins and fishes.
A large amount of Copper can be acquired simply by looting the corpses of the Highwaymen you kill. This is an easy task which doesn’t take too much time.
If you want to go even faster, try silent takedowns as you’ll loot your victims the moment you kill them.
Although Far Cry: New Dawn features a lot of animals you can hunt, not all skins can be traded for Copper.

How to Trade Items for Copper
Whenever you have items you want to trade for Copper, head to the nearest Workbench, and select the Trade Loot option in the menu.
From there, simply pick the items you want to trade and you’ll get the corresponding amount of Copper.
