Genshin Impact Klee Build Guide: Best Weapons, Artifacts

Genshin Impact Klee Build Guide: Best Weapons, Artifacts

Swinging Elemental Reactions left and right, Klee belongs to the Genshin character niche that’s often pretty easy to forget. She does everything right, and that’s pretty much it.

However, there are ways to improve on her battle prowess regardless of the build you’re opting for. So, how does one find success in her? We’re glad you asked!

In this article, we will be showing everything you need to know in order to make Klee work! This includes builds, team comps, ascension, and much more! So, on that note, let’s jump right in!

Who Is Klee In Genshin Impact?

Klee is a 5-star Pyro character that chooses the Catalyst as her main weapon. In terms of battle prowess, Klee is a character that prefers to settle the score with quantity over quality.

However, she still possesses high base damage which enables her to deal lasting effects to her enemies. Unfortunately, her short range makes her susceptible to damage, so it can be a bit tricky to main Klee.

via DBLTAP

With that said, she is the daughter of the Intrepid, and Alice. In terms of character, Klee inherits a bit too much from her mother – including her destructive personality.

She has been entrusted to the Knights of Favonius by her mother, and continues to deliver surprise after surprise, much to everyone’s dismay.

Best Klee Builds In Genshin Impact

As mentioned previously, Klee’s main weakness is her short range. Therefore, most of non-Elemental Skill attacks are pretty hard to pull off unless you’re extremely good at her.

Therefore, your build needs to optimize the effects of your Elemental Skill in order to reach a satisfactory level of battle efficiency!

Best Weapons On Klee – Pyro DPS Build

Klee generally tends to go Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds along with Skyward Atlas as a replacement weapon. However, you can also build Solar Pearl or The Windsith on her.

The general idea is to increase her Pyro DMG as much as possible while ensuring her to maintain that level of DPS for longer periods of time.

Note: An equally potent variant of this build makes Klee go as a Pyro support in the team comp. In order to achieve that, you’d need to chuck Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds out to make Skyward Atlas the main weapon and Sacrificial Fragments in off-hand.

With that said, here’s how this build works:

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

The Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is a Catalyst weapon obtainable from standard wishes. The main premise is to increase your movement speed along with Elemental DMG.

via Zeusx

Its passive is called Boundless Blessing, and according to the official description, it’s capable of doing the following:

Your movement SPD is increased by 10%. Whenever you go into battle, your Elemental DMG bonus is increased by 8% – 16% every 4 seconds.

This bonus can stack up to 4 times, and will only last until the character either dies or leaves the combat.

Your Elemental DMG bonus is increased by 12% – 24%. Whenever you land a normal attack, it has a 50% chance of earning the factor of the clouds.

According to the official description, this ability will make them actively attack nearby opponents for the next 15 seconds, while dealing 160% – 320% ATK DMG. However, this effect will only occur once per 30 seconds.

The Widsith

This is a 4-star catalyst belonging to the Wanderer’s Troupe Series. It primarily focuses on amping your CRIT DMG, and is a pretty good offhand pick if you’re going the DMG route.

via Xfire

The Widsith’s passive is called Debut, which essentially grants your character a random theme song for the next 10 seconds he/she descends on the battlefield.

The theme song can only be granted once every 30 seconds and can have the following effects:

  • Recitative: Your ATK DMG is increased by 60% –  120% for the specified duration.

Best Artifacts On Klee

Klee can choose between Crimson Witch of Flames and Lavawalker. However, Gladiator set is not a bad spot-holder either.

Since Klee is primarily reliant on her Pyro DMG, you just need Artifacts that can take her damage numbers to insanity!

Crimson Witch of Flames

The Crimson Witch of Flames focuses on improving your overall Pyro DMG bonus, along with its elemental effects.

Crimson Witch of Flames

Crimson Witch of Flames via GameWith

The Crimson Witch of Flames artifact set comprises the following:

  • Flower of Life: Witch’s Flower of Blaze
  • Plume of Death: Witch’s Ever-Burning Plume
  • Sands of Eon: Witch’s End Time
  • Goblet of Eonothem: Witch’s Heart Flames
  • Circlet of Logos: Witch’s Scorching Hat

The set bonuses of these artifacts activate at the following marks:

2 – Piece Mark

This bonus increases your Pyro DMG Bonus by 15% – allowing you to deal more damage through your kit, thereby increasing your already-high damage numbers.

4 – Piece Mark

Your following damages receive a 40% increase in their effectiveness:

  • Overloaded: An Elemental Reaction triggered by inflicting Electro Damage on Pyro-affected enemies.
  • Burning: An Elemental Reaction triggered by inflicting Pyro Damage on Dendro-affected enemies.
  • Burgeon: An Elemental Reaction triggered by inflicting Dendro Damage on Hydro-affected enemies. (Not a valuable buff in this case)

Consequently, your following damages receive a 15% increase in their effectiveness:

  • Vaporize: An Elemental Reaction triggered by inflicting Hydro Damage on Pyro-affected enemies.
  • Melt: An Elemental Reaction triggered by inflicting Pyro Damage on Cryo-affected enemies.

Additionally, your 2-piece bonus effect also gains a 50% effectiveness boost from its starting value for the next 10 seconds. This effect only stacks thrice.

How To Obtain

The Crimson Witch of Flames set can be obtained from the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula  – a Domain of Blessing located on top of Wuwang Hill in Liyue.

You can also grab it from the Artifact Strongbox. The higher the levels you challenge, the better your chances of obtaining the 4* and 5* rarities.

Lavawalker

This artifact set focuses on increasing your overall Pyro resistance and damage on pyro effected opponents. Since you’re already investing completely into the pyro element, this can prove to be a great addition.

The Lavawalker set consists of the following:

  • Flower of Life: Lavawalker’s Resolution
  • Plume of Death: Lavawalker’s Salvation
  • Sands of Eon: Lavawalker’s Torment
  • Goblet of Eonothem: Lavawalker’s Epiphany
  • Circlet of Logos: Lavawalker’s Wisdom

The set bonuses for these artifacts activate at the following marks:

2 – Piece Bonus

Equipping any two of the above-mentioned items will increase your Pyro RES by 40%.

4 – Piece Bonus

Equipping 4 of the above-mentioned artifacts increases your damage against enemies affected by pyro element by 35%.

How To Obtain

Both 4* and 5* variants of this item can be obtained by challenging the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula. Likewise, you can also obtain the 5 star rarity exclusively from Artifact Strongbox.

The Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula Domain of Blessing is located on top of Wuwang Hill in Liyue. The higher the level you challenge and clear, the better the reward will be.

Gladiator’s Finale

This artifact set grants an overall buff to your ATK damage, at base level, and under certain conditions. It’s not as potent as the first two – unless you’re going for a pure damage build.

The Gladiator’s Finale set consists of the following:

  • Flower of Life: Gladiator’s Nostalgia
  • Plume of Death: Gladiator’s Destiny
  • Sands of Eon: Gladiator’s Longing
  • Goblet of Eonothem: Gladiator’s Intoxication
  • Circlet of Logos: Gladiator’s Triumphus

The set bonuses of these artifacts activate at the following marks:

2 – Piece Bonus

This bonus increases your ATK Damage by a flat 18%.

4 – Piece Bonus

This bonus increases your normal ATK DMG by 35%, given you’re using one of the following items:

  • Sword
  • Claymore
  • Polearm

However, this bonus isn’t very relevant to Klee. Therefore, it’s better to match the set with a 2-piece bonus of another artifact.

How To Obtain

The Gladiator’s Finale set can be obtained from the following sources:

  • Weekly Bosses at World Level > 3
  • Normal Bosses at World Level > 5
  • Domain Reliquary: Tier 1
  • Artifact Strongbox – Available for 5* rarity only

What’s The Best Team For Klee?

Klee is generally played as a mix between a pyro carry and a support. Therefore, you need teammates that can make use of your Elemental affinities as effectively as possible.

The following characters tend to fit the bill quite well, and enable Klee to be a carry for your team:

Venti

Venti is a 5-star Anemo bow character capable of being an excellent sub-DPS and Support for your team comp.

He tends to boost your team’s Pyro DMG by utilizing his Elemental Burst with Klee. Add his ability to group enemies, and you never need to count numbers again!

Mona

Mona is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst that tends to take the cake for her support abilities. Besides, pairing a Pyro mage with a Hyrdo mage spells nothing but doom for your enemies!

Her Elemental Burst creates massive windows for Elemental Reactions capable of turning the tide of a bad fight.

Diona

Diona is a 5-star bow Cryo character capable of being an excellent healer that can apply constant Cryo on enemies.

via UHD W

Pairing her with Klee introduces Melt Reactions to the mix. She’s also capable of dispelling Klee’s weakness of being too squishy.

Bennett

Bennett is a 4-star Pyro sword character that can potentially wipe the floor with most supports when it comes to buffing ATK Damage.

via WA

Pairing him – as the same element – with Klee enables her to become the main carry of a team comp. Plus, since Bennett’s Elemental Skill is spammable, you can get a lot of decent elemental reactions going!

Klee: Ability Rundown

We’ve repeatedly mentioned how Klee can go both support and DPS, depending on how you play her. Your use of abilities dictates this kind of playstyle.

Therefore, it’s best if you take a dive down her kit to understand her workings!

Basic Attack: Kaboom!

Klee throws objects that go boom upon impact, nothing more, nothing less. These objects perform up to 3 explosive attacks while dealing AoE Pyro DMG.

It’s a pretty strong auto in general, considering it being able to apply all the basic kinds of damage.

With that said, here’s how the damage scaling works for Kaboom!:

Once the three charges have been completed, the Jumpy Dumpty splits into a bunch of mines that explode upon contact with opponents. Upon explosions, the mines deal AoE Pyro DMG.

Klee – Passive Talents

Klee’s ascension passive talents might seem weak at first glance. However, they’re the ones responsible for formulating her kit into something worthwhile.

Here’s how they essentially work:

Pounding Surprise – Ascension 1 Talent

This talent allows you to gain an Explosive Spark (50% chance) whenever you deal DMG through Jumpy Dumpty and Normal Attacks.

Your next charges attack consumes the Explosive Spark to deal 50% more damage while consuming no stamina whatsoever.

Sparkling Burst – Ascension 4 Talent

Your party members gain 2 Elemental Energy whenever Klee’s charged attack CRITs the opponent.

This talent allows Klee to act as a power source that can replenish your team to keep going after expending everything!

All of My Treasures! – Automatic Unlock

This is a utility-based passive that lets you see the location of nearby resources. This ability only works on Mondstadt items on the mini-map.

Klee – Constellations

Like any other character in Genshin Impact, Klee’s kit comprises six unique constellations meant to provide a roundup to her as a Pyro damage mage.

Here’s how they work:

Level 1 Constellation –  Chained Reactions

Klee’s Attacks and Skills can potentially summon sparks. These sparks bombard opponents – dealing 120% of Sparks ‘n’ Splash’s damage in the process.

Level 2 Constellation – Explosive Frags

An enemy that got hit by Jumpy Dumpty’s mines will have its DEF reduced by 23% for the next 10 seconds.

Level 3 Constellation – Exquisite Compound

Jumpy Dumptuy’s level is increased by 3, with the upgrade level cap being 15.

Level 4 Constellation – Sparkly Explosion

If Klee leaves the battlefield during an active Sparks ‘n’ Splash, an explosion will occur that will deal 555% or her ATK DMG as Pyro DMG in an AoE radius.

Level 5 Constellation – Nova Burst

Sparks ‘n’ Splash’s level is increased by 3, with the upgrade level cap being 15.

Level 6 Constellation – Blazing Delight

While Sparks ‘n’ Splash’s effects are active, Klee’s party members will regenerate 3 Energy every 3 seconds.

Once the duration of Sparks ‘n’ Splash is over, your party members will have their Pyro damage increased by 10% for the next 25 seconds.
