Far Cry New Dawn The Best Laid Plans Treasure Hunt Walkthrough

Far Cry New Dawn The Best Laid Plans, is the seventh Treasure Hunt side-activity featured in the video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Best Laid Plans is very similar to the previous Treasure Hunt covered by our Far Cry New Dawn Wiki, named Rescuers Go Under.

This means that in order to be able to finish The Best Laid Plans and to find the secret stash and the treasure room, you need the Grapple Perk.

Assuming you didn’t unlock it yet, you can do that by playing other Far Cry New Dawn Treasures Hunts which don’t actually require this perk. Two of them are Riddle Me Fish and For Whom the Bear Tolls.

Treasure Hunt Location

The Best Laid Plans Treasure Hunt is started near an old train track, east of The Pantry Outpost and north-west of Sacred Lumber Outpost.

Alternatively, you can look for the train track between 2 Looting Locations: Broken Tears and The Old Project.

Survivor Note Location

When you get to the mission’s location marked on our map above, look for a Survivor Note, on a wooden crate near some barrels. You can also see its locations in the following picture.

“Turns out the bridge couldn’t hold the train. Jerome barely got out alive, and we lost at least a year’s worth of supplies.

I don’t think we can build much of Prosperity now without help from the outside.

Still, first chance we get, someone with a grappling hook should head up into this mess and salvage what they can. Might as well make the best of this.

Grace.”

Once you read the note above, get ready because there is some grappling to do in order to reach the hidden stash and the treasure room.

The starting point is the blue train cart in the picture below.

Far Cry New Dawn The Best Laid Plans Treasure Hunt Walkthrough 1

Check this wagon for the first Grappling Point

Get inside the blue wagon, by climbing on the brown one on the ground and look up.

Use the Grapple Point to reach the upper side of the blue wagon, then head outside and climb on the next wagon.

Slowly move on the small ledge, and use the Grappling Point on top of the pole pictured below, to advance.

The next Grappling Point is on top of this pole

Now climb the wooden crates nearby and move forward until you see the next Grappling Point (also pictured), on a distant train wagon.

When you try to reach this Grapple Point the train cart below will detach, revealing the path you have to follow

Once you grapple on that point, a suspended train cart will fall to the ground, revealing a news Grappling Point just below the one you just used. Without releasing the rope, swing, and grapple to the said point.

Next, slowly move on the catwalks in front of you, and when you reach the end grapple on the next point.

From this Grapple Point, you have to swing and move to two additional points

While holding the rope, you need to swing and grapple on three different points. The last one is on a blue train wagon, which is also your destination.

Move through the next two train carts and you’ll eventually reach the hidden stash and the treasure room.
