Crater Lake Research Sites Map

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Sites Locations MapAll Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Sites Locations can be revealed by conquering the Ambush Camps in the fourth region of the video game.

Specifically, you have to clear Spruce Lake Ambush Camp and Cascade Lakes Railway Ambush Camp.

On our map above you can see where all Days Gone Nero Research Sites in Crater Lake Region are located, while our guide below explains how to access them.

Crater Lake Nero Research Site #1

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Site 1 LocationThe first Research Site in this region is found inside a cave. You’ll visit this location while playing “Leave All That by the Door” mission, but you can also re-visit this place later in the game.

If you use the main entrance through a hole in the fence, look for a lever in the lower section of the mine.

By pressing it you’ll go up and you’ll be able to retrieve the Nero Injector and Nero Intel #36. Both of them are found close to a corpse and the upper exit point.

Crater Lake Nero Research Site #2

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Site 2 LocationThe second Research Site is located south-west from the previous one. It is a small camp up in the mountain.

There is no road or path to reach it, so you’ll have to drive through the woods. To get on the hill, look for a small entrance on the right side while facing this location. It is close to the mountain.

At this camp, you’ll find the Nero Injector in the white crate (pictured) next to a green table where Nero Intel #35 is also found. Finally, there is some Kerosene next to the tent.

Crater Lake Nero Research Site #3

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Site 3 LocationFairly easy to locate, the third Days Gone Crater Lake Research Site is found north of Spruce Lake Ambush Camp and Spruce Lake Nero Checkpoint.

Look for it behind a waterfall, and you’ll find another Nero Injector Crate (pictured) and Nero Intel #34 on the table next to it.

Crater Lake Nero Research Site #4

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Site 4 LocationAnother accessible Days Gone Nero Site in Crater Lake is the fourth one we have marked on our map. It is inside a house, on the ground floor in the living room.

The Nero Injector Crate (as pictured) is next to the window where you’ll also find a Nero Intel Recorder which unlocks the 30th entry in your collectibles menu.

Be advised that there are some Newts waiting for you here.

Crater Lake Nero Research Site #5

Days Gone Crater Lake Nero Research Site 5 LocationThe last Nero Research Site on our Crater Lake map above is on the small island in the middle of the lake southeast of Wizard Island.

This location is quite tricky to reach because if you try to swim Deacon drowns. Instead, you’ll want to perform a bike jump and land on the island.

The ramp (jumping point) you’ll have to use is close to a dead Nero Scientist with a yellow suit. Use the bike nitro and even if you don’t land on the island, you can still swim for several meters before drowning.

Once you reach this position, carefully investigate the area. Here you’ll find the Nero Injector next to the helicopter, and also Nero Intel #7; however, in front of the helicopter is an IPCA Tech you should not miss.

Look for another dead Nero Scientist wearing a white uniform. Last but not least, grab all Crafting Materials (Beer Bottle, Scrap, and Kerosene).

To leave this island, you’ll have to perform another jump using the ramp above your previous landing spot. It is notably higher, making the jump easier.
