Dr. Nefarious or the Evil Doctor is the main villain in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The boss makes two appearances in the game. One as the tutorial boss when you are Ratchet and have to defeat him. How to Defeat Dr. Nefarious in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Dr. Nefarious and Emperor Nefarious are different bosses in the game. You will have to face Dr. Nefarious in two encounters as two different encounters.
Encounter #1
The first encounter with Dr. Nefarious will be your tutorial. You will be playing as Ratchet and have to defeat him piloting his flying robot. The boss has common attacks such as laser beams and machine gun fire. You can avoid getting hit by dodging in any direction. Deal damage to him after his attacks, and he will soon spawn Amoeboids to help him fight. During this phase, you will have to focus on the adds only until they stop coming and Dr. Nefarious steps up again. Deal enough damage to the boss, and he will soon fall, and your tutorial will finish.
Encounter #2
Your second encounter will come later, and you will be playing as Rivet. The first phase will be simple as you will have to dodge any incoming attacks and deal damage to him. Once he reaches 80% hp, he will open a portal and take you inside with him. Here you will have to avoid the obstacles and slide through to the next boss arena. Here the boss fight will remain the same, and you will have to take down his hp. Once he reaches 50%, he will open another portal and take you to Grunthor, a mighty creature. The creature is there to defend Dr. Nefarious and does dash attacks to kill you. Dodge and deal with this creature. Once it is down, you will have to face Dr. Nefarious again in the same manner.
Once you get him down to 25% hp, he will teleport you back to the first arena, where the last phase of the fight will begin. You have to dodge all attacks and deal damage to the boss so that he falls eventually. Dr. Nefarious might also spawn a robot to stop you, so be wary of that as well.
