The Red Dead Redemption 2 Legendary Boar is the third Legendary Animal you should attempt hunting after the Legendary Buck and Legendary Big Horn Ram.
It can be found north of Saint-Denis and if you manage to kill it you will be able to craft the Boar Tusk Talisman, very early in the game. This animal is a variation of the Common Wild Boar.
In fact, the RDR2 Legendary Boar can be killed the moment you start Chapter 2. Our guide below explains how to hunt this Legendary Animal and how to find the items required to craft the Boar Tusk Talisman in the video game.
Description:
” The Legendary Boar is native to Bluewater Marsh. The boar can be easily recognized by its larger size and its light brown hair. As an omnivore, it preys on amphibians, reptiles, insects, worms, and smaller mammals. The best weapon to use when hunting this animal is either a rifle or a Bow with Poison Arrows. Killing this animal will give you the opportunity to craft a rare talisman.”
Legendary Boar Location:
- Bluewater Marsh
Recommended Weapon & Ammo:
- Springfield Rifle
- Regular Ammo
Hunting & Tracking Guide:
When you get to the location marked on our map above, first inspect the Legendary Boar Dung near a tree trunk in the opening. Check the picture below for an example.
Now, head west to find some broken sticks next to two dead trees.
Finally, head south-east to find another dung near the swamp. Inspect it then turn south to spot the Legendary Boar patrolling next to some bushes, close to the water.
For this animal, you should activate the Dead Eye while aiming, making sure that you aim for its head. Depending on the state of your weapon, three headshots might be required. If your weapon is clean you should put it down with two.
Keep in mind that the animal will not leave the area; so be patient and keep looking if you spook it.
Craftable Items:
Once you kill it, skin the animal for the Legendary Boar Tusk and Legendary Boar Pelt. Using the Boar Tusk you can craft the Boar Tusk Talisman. You will need the Cobalt Petrified Wood and a Gold Earring.
This important talisman will decrease the speed that the horse health and stamina cores drain by 10%.
If you don’t know where to find the Cobalt Petrified Wood, make sure you check our Red Dead Redemption 2 Lock Boxes and Chests Locations Guide. You should see the Cobalt Petrified Wood location marked at position 19.
The Gold Earring, on the other hand, can be obtained from civilians inside trains. Simply enter a train and rob them, or check our Gold Earring location guide if you prefer a more peaceful approach.
At the Trapper, using the boar pelt you can craft the following garment:
The Legendary Boar and Bison Fowlers
- Legendary Boar Pelt x1
- Legendary Tatanka Bison Pelt x1
- $37
