Red Dead Redemption II: Gold Earring Location

Red Dead Redemption 2 Gold Earrings are valuables you can find while playing the video game developed by Rockstar Studios.

As most valuables in the game, you can opt to sell them, or you can use them in crafting. The Gold Earring, for example, can be used to craft the Boar Tusk Talisman at the Fence.

In Red Dead Redemption II, this unique material can usually be found by looting the bodies of your victims, or through robberies.

However, unlike other materials in RDR2, the Gold Earrings are also found in specific locations. This is quite helpful because some players might sell the Gold Earrings, before crafting the Boar Tusk Talisman.

So, let’s see where you can find Gold Earrings in Red Dead Redemption 2. Below we reveal three methods to get more Gold Earrings just in case you need them.

Where to Find the Gold Earrings:

The golden earrings are not in a specific place and you can randomly get them by looting bodies and houses but there are a couple of places that you can check out which might help you get the earrings faster.

One of the first locations you should visit if you are looking for an RDR2 Gold Earring is Watson’s Cabin. This location can be approached during a Home Robbery. Make sure you check our Watson’s Cabin home robbery guide if you want to get the most out of this specific activity.

Now, assuming you already dealt with the occupants at this location, check the nightstand pictured below. Inside the drawer, you should be able to find a Gold Earring or even more. Keep in mind though that drop rate varies in each location.

If you can’t find the Gold Earring at Watson’s Cabin, head to Mattock Pond, just north of Rhodes. From here, north-east you should see a cattle farm.

Head to that location and, if needed, kill the occupants inside. Your goal is to reach the drawer in the bedroom (also pictured below). Inside one of the drawers, you should find another Gold Earring.

Moreover, you can head to the house at Lakay in order to find another pair of Gold Earrings. This area is located in the northwest of Saint Denis at the very south of Lagras. In the mansion-like house, head to the double bed and search for a nightstand on its left. You will be able to find the pair of Gold Earrings on top of the nightstand.

The final method of finding Gold Earrings in Red Dead Redemption 2, involves Train Robberies. Since these valuables are worn by women, focus on them when you rob trains. It’s not the easiest method because it might lower your reputation, but the talisman you need to craft is more important.

Last, but not least, keep in mind that you can also try visiting one of the locations above; and if you don’t find the Gold Earring, you can save your game and reload it. This is actually a good way to make the items respawn.

While the Gold Earrings in RDR2 are based purely on RNG (random number generation, you will still be able to find them at the mentioned locations since these are mostly static. However, in the case you end up empty-handed, we recommend you reload the game.

Doing so will reload all the assets, thereby prompting the Gold Earrings to respawn – given they’re not already collected from the said location. You might have to restart several times to make the Earrings spawn, but it’s generally considered worth it since Gold Earrings can be a bigger pain to collect otherwise.

Consequently, you can always gather a bunch of these earrings by robbing people. While the chances are low, it’s a legitimate method nonetheless.

RDR2 Drawers

Most houses in Red Dead Redemption 2 have a dresser in any one of their rooms. The dressers have the highest chance of spawning Gold Earrings in their drawers. On the off chance that a drawer is empty, you can always use the mentioned reset method a couple of times.

Since the items in a drawer are generally randomized, each one will yield different results. So your chances of obtaining the earrings are rather bleak. Regardless, it’s always good to try and fail rather than fail without even trying. If it doesn’t work, then that’s that. But if it does, then you’re one pair of Gold Earrings richer.

How to Use the Gold Earring

The Gold Earring in Red Dead Redemption II is used to craft the Boar Tusk Talisman, for which you also need the Cobalt Petrified Wood. This talisman can reduce the health and stamina drains of your horse by 10 percent.

If you don’t know where to find it, check our Cobalt Petrified Wood location guide, then head to a Fence and use these items to craft the said RDR2 Talisman.

The Gold Earring can be sold at the Fence, but it’s a cheap item; meaning that you’ll only get $2 for one piece.
