We have gone over the general tips and tricks of Apex Legends but there are a few things that you should keep in mind in season 3. In this Apex Legends guide, we are going to go over the tips and tricks for season 3.

Apex Legends Tips And Tricks For Season 3

The following are the tips and tricks that you can use to your advantage in the new season of Apex Legends:

Know How To Pilot The Drone

With the new season, you have the new Legend called Crypto. His Abilities are around his drone. You need to learn how to pilot the drone in order to be able to play him and be able to counter him in the arena.

While some controls are pretty straight forward, there are some that you should learn about and get some practice with. For instance, the drone has two flight modes. Level mode keeps the drone at its current height and allows you to look around freely.

The other mode is called direct. This allows you to change the altitude of the drone. The drone can also take some time to get up to full speed when standing still. It is also vulnerable to fire. Keep in mind that while the drone does not have a cooldown, if it is taken down by an enemy you will have to wait 40 seconds before you can use it again.

The Drone Can Be Used To Scout Loot Areas

The drone can be used to look around and scout loot areas. You can see what kind of loot you will be able to get and whether or not there are any enemies in the area. This is great if you are not looking to pick a fight early on in the game or if you are just trying to survive for as long as possible.

Use The Drone To Get Into The Enemy’s Head

Enemies react to the drone aggressively. They will either shoot it or run away from it. You can use this to your advantage. You can use the drone on enemy snipers so that they have to move and no longer have the upper hand.

You can also use the drone to make sure that an enemy’s loot run is shortened. You can get creative with the drone and create all kinds of distractions which can give you the upper hand in battle.

You Can Ping While Using The Drone

The enemy needs to be in the 30m range in order to be picked up by the drone but keep in mind that even when using the drone you can still ping enemies as you normally would with any other Legend. You can use this to give information to your squad.

The Drone Can Be Used To Guard Choke Points And Exits

The drone can still be used even if you are not actively piloting it. Exit the drone rather than recalling it will keep the sensors active. It will continue to highlight enemies in the 30m radius. This can be very useful to keep an eye on choke points, entrances and exits.

EMP Blasts Are Most Effective At The Start Of Ambushes

EMP Blast is Cypto’s Ultimate ability. You can use this when starting an ambush. It will stun enemies, deal fifty damage to shields and destroy traps that may be laid down by Caustic or Wattson. The range of the blast is pretty big but keep in mind that if you are too close you can be affected as well.

Patch Up Mates Outside The Ring

You can use the drone to move around the banner and get squadmates back up again. This can be done even if the teammate is outside the ring. The drone does not take any damage from the ring and that is why this is possible. The banner does need to be in the light range in order for this to work.

The Drone Can Give Your Position Away

While the drone is very useful, it is not very stealthy. The engine makes a sound that can be heard by players around you. It also leaves behind a bright trail that can be noticed easily. This can be used by the enemy to get to your position. Keep that in mind when piloting the drone.

The Drone Can Hack The Kill Leader Banner

The kill leader banner can be hacked to show how many people are in the 30m radius. This is not a big area but if you see a number on the banner then your guard should be up.
