Apex Legends Beginner’s Guide: Tips, Ticks And Strategy For Getting Started

Apex Legends Tips

Apex Legends is a battle royale game in which you need to be the last man standing. That might sound simple enough but other players are trying to do the same as well. In this Apex Legends beginner’s guide, we are going to go over some tips, tricks and strategy, so that you have an idea of what you are getting into.

Apex Legends Tips And Tricks For New Players

The following are the tips and tricks that you need to know about if you are new to Apex Legends:

Find The Legend That Matches Your Play Style

There are plenty of characters in the game and you need to check out all of them. Once you have done that, you should pick the one that best suits your playstyle. You should have a backup character as well in case someone in your squad picks your first option.

Remember that the legends are balanced and are the same when it comes to speed and strength but they are different inabilities. If you want to be the shield between your team and the enemy then you can pick Gibraltor.

If you want to help your team across long distances then you can pick Pathfinder. If you want to play the healer then you can pick Lifeline.

These are some examples. You should experiment with some of the legends in the game to see which one matches your playstyle. Gibraltar, Lifeline, and Bloodhound are a few legends that are fairly easy to play for newcomers.

Stick With Your Squad

Remember that this is a team game so you need to stick with your squad. If you wander off then you will be an easy target for the enemy team. You will also not be able to help out your team from a distance if they are ambushed.

Communication Is Key

You will soon find that communication is very important in the game. Having a decent pair of headphones and a mic is ideal for Apex Legends but if that is not an option then you can take advantage of the impressive comms system that allows you to ping locations of items, enemies and much more. This can be used to communicate different things to your team even if you do not have a mic.

Get Used To The Map

Kings Canyon is where you will land and where all the fighting takes place. This is a pretty big space so it will take a while for you to get familiarize with the surroundings. You should land in different locations in order to learn the area.

Be Cautious When Looting

Taking down an enemy and looting is great and all but it leaves you open to an attack. You need to be very cautious when looting a building or a dead enemy.

Use JumpTowers, HotZones And Other Features To Your Advantage

There are plenty of things on the map that you can use to your advantage. Jump Towers allow you to jump high into the sky and dive down. This allows players to traverse the area much quicker. Doing so can come in handy when you need to get into the center of the play area.

HotZones are areas on the map where you can get high tier loot. Respawn Beacons are useful as well as they can bring downed enemies back to life. All these add an extra layer of strategy to the game and force you to plan ahead which we recommend.

Legend Banners Can Be Used To Revive Players

When a teammate is downed a Legend Banner is dropped. This can only be seen by the teammates. If you can pick this up and place it into the Respawn Beacon then the teammate will be revived. Respawn Beacons can be seen on the map.

Jump Master Chooses When To Jump

While you are in a squad of three players, one of the players will be the Jump Master. He or she will decide where to land and when to land. It is recommended that you stick to the Jump Master even if you are not happy with where the Jump Master is landing.

The Jump Master is the last one to pick a Legend. If you are the Jump Master but feel that someone else on your team has more experience and is a better player then you can give that player the role of Jump Master rather than keeping it for yourself.

Use The Inventory Management System To Your Advantage

You might think that grabbing everything is not the way to go and you are right. In the arena, you do not know what you are going to come across and what kind of loot you are going to get. Thankfully, the game has an intelligent inventory management system that tells you when you find something that is better than what you already have. This allows you to pick up stuff that is actually useful.

Now that we have gone over some of the basics of the game we can talk about tips, tricks and strategic suggestions. The following are some pointers that will help you in Apex Legends.

Equip Weapons As Soon As You Land

As soon as you land you should rush and find weapons and gear. It is more than likely that the fight is going to start as soon as you land and that there are more players around you. Gear and weapons will give you a better chance of survival.

Recommended Weapons For Beginners

Weapons

If you are new to the game then you are going to need weapons that are easy to use but deal decent damage as well. Such weapons that we can recommend are the EVA-8 Auto and VK-47 Flatline. These weapons are easy to find and you can take out your enemies with them pretty quick.

Guns Are Only As Good As The Attachments

While you can use weapons without any attachments, it is not something that we can recommend. None of the weapons in the game are easy to use without a scope or other attachments. Pay close attention to weapon attachments as they can make guns way better.

Stick With The Jump Master

Once you have started the game, you should stay close to the Jump Master. You might be tempted to head somewhere else but that means that you can easily be ambushed by an enemy team. Taking on 3 people alone is not something that you can do very easily in Apex Legends.

Armor Increases Durability

In Apex Legends, you can equip helmets and vests. These will increase your shield capacity which will make you more durable and harder to kill. Getting these will help you survive in the arena.

Use Finishers Only When There Is Noone Around

Once you have downed an enemy, you can go close and use a finisher. This looks very cool indeed but this will leave you open to an attack. Only do this when you are sure that the coast is clear.

Armor Tiers

Gold Gear

There are different tiers of armor that you can find in the arena. They are as follows:

  • White – Common
  • Blue – Rare
  • Purple – Epic
  • Gold – Legendary

Legendary Armor can only be found in supply drops and hot zones. While Legendary Armor and Epic armor provide the same shield, Legendary armor has passive perks which can give you a massive advantage in battle.

Types Of Healing Items

In general, there are two kinds of healing items in Apex Legends. One is for you while the other is for your armor. In other words, one regenerates your health while the other regenerates your shields.

Legend Roles

Each Legend has a role to play in the game. You should familiarize yourself with these roles. Every character is unique in its own way. If you are playing Gibraltar then you should be up close and personal with the enemy team. Your shields should block incoming damage.

Wraith

On the other hand, if you are playing Pathfinder then you have the role of the scout. You need to make traversal of the arena easier and faster for your team. Similarly, if you are playing Lifeline then you are the healer of the team.

These are all the Apex Legends tips and tricks that you should know about if you are new to the game. If you use these tips and tricks in Apex Legends then you should get your first win in no time.

If you are interested in learning more about the game then you can find out about why it takes so long for a new Legend to be released.
