Red Dead Redemption II Walkthrough: Arcadia for Amateurs Stranger Mission

Arcadia for Amateurs is one of the first Stranger Missions you can complete in Red Dead Redemption 2 when you start Chapter 2.

So, Arthur, ready to meet Albert Mason? He is an avid photographer located southeast of Strawberry. On our map, his location is marked by Part 1.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Arcadia for Amateurs features five instances, meaning that you will have to find and complete 5 of Albert’s requirements in order to finish it.

First of all, let’s find him.

Mission Requirements:

Walkthrough:

When you reach the location on our map, look in the small forest for a photographer wearing a white hat.

Approach him and he will tell you that he’s photographing predators. Albert uses this occasion to take a photo of you too, Arthur.

Part 1

Unfortunately, while he aligns the camera, his bag is stolen by a coyote. Your first task cowboy is to catch the thief!

Head to the yellow area marked on your map and activate you hunting senses by pressing both L3/L and R3/R. This procedure is similar to the one you used when you learned how to hunt from Charles (The Aftermath of Genesis).

Get close to the coyote’s location and shoot it. Even if you don’t kill it, the coyote will drop Albert’s bag.

Kill that thief, Arthur!

Pick it up and go back to the photographer.

Part 2

After 2 in-game days, our photographer spawns north-west of Wallace Station (the location is also marked on our map above). If you wish to complete this mission in one go, feel free to set up camp and sleep to fast-forward time.

Alternatively, you can spend time hunting, or why not look for some hidden chests and lockboxes in the area.

Regardless, Arcadia for Amateurs Part II starts when you approach Albert who is now trying to photograph some wolves.

The bait is set, and all you have to do now is wait. Make sure you stay several steps behind the photographer until the wolves arrive. Obviously, the beasts are spooked by the camera’s flash and they will focus their attention on better prey. You!

Kill the wolves and protect Albert

Draw your weapon (preferably a rifle and take out the wolves) one by one before they attack you. Use your Dead Eye skill to score some headshots.

After you dispatch the wolves, talk to the scared photographer who will thank you, then leave. Red Dead Redemption II Arcadia for Amateurs Part II is now complete and Albert will relocate.

Part 3

Arcadia for Amateurs continues after an additional 48 in-game hours, north of Emerald Ranch where Albert is trying to photograph some wild horses. Approach the stranger and after he shows you the herd, mount his horse.

Albert wants to take the perfect photo of a Silver Dapple Pinto, so ride to the marked area on your map and lead back the horses. While keeping L2/LT pulled, shout so the horses move faster. You can also shoot some bullets in the air, but shouting has a better effect.

The trick here is not to rush the horses and keep the herd together. As you get closer to the target area, stop so Albert can take the perfect picture.

Now talk to him and you will complete the third part of Arcadia for Amateurs Stranger mission. Additionally, you will receive a picture of the wolves from the previous part.

Part 4

The fourth instance/encounter with Albert takes place east of Lagras Swamps, two days after the previous part. You should find him in the location we have marked above, by a boat.

Talk to him and up in the boat with you, cowboy. Your task for this mission is to help Albert photograph 3 American Alligators in the locations on your map.

Help Albert find 3 alligators

Row towards them and make sure Albert’s camera is facing the alligators. You should see one in the water, one hunting, and one on a small island.

When you reach the third, exit the boat and approach the beast. You actually need to attract the alligator. Keep an eye on the minimap and when the yellow dot turns red, run back to your boat. The alligator will follow you, thus Albert will be able to take the third picture.

Now, row back to the shore where you found Albert. Once you reach the marker, Arcadia for Amateurs Part IV ends.

Part 5

Red Dead Redemption 2 Arcadia for Amateurs Part V starts 2 in-game days after the previous part; when Albert spawns north of Horseshoe Overlook.

Pay the stranger a visit and you will find him taking photographs of some eagles. This part serves as an epilogue to the mission and there are no objectives available. Simply watch the funny stranger falling off a cliff, then grabbing his camera and leaving. So much for becoming a photographer, aye?
