Days Gone Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero Checkpoint is also a location featured in World’s End Storyline.

This means that you must explore and unlock it in order to complete all storylines in the videogame.

This checkpoint is located southeast of Cascade Lakes Railway Ambush Camp, and Tumblebug River Infestation.

Furthermore, it is northwest of Rimview Ranch Infestation in Crater Lake Region.

Getting Inside

Getting inside the checkpoint may be challenging if the Marauders took over the place; but, most of the time, this MMU base is deserted.

There are two MMU buildings inside the small courtyard, and you can unlock both of them by powering up the generator. Before doing that; however, you might want to silence the MMU Speakers we listed below.

Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero MMU Speaker 1

The first MMU Speaker (pictured above) is on top of the guard post at the main gate.

Shoot it down or climb the kiosk to disable it manually.

Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero MMU Speakers 2 & 3

The next two Nero Speakers are on top of the MMU building on the right side as you enter the courtyard.

You can shoot both of them, or you can climb the roof using the black crates.

Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero MMU Speaker 4

Another MMU Speaker at this Nero Checkpoint is on top of the guard post at the entrance to the tunnel on the other side of the compound.

Shoot it down to disable it.

Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Nero MMU Speakers 5 & 6

The last 2 speakers can be observed on top of the MMU building on the left side of the entrance while facing the tunnel.

These can be disabled by climbing on the roof and pressing Square while next to them.

Generator Fuel (Gas) Location

After you silence all 6 speakers it’s time to start the generator. The fuel canister is located behind a yellow school bus in the middle of the camp.

Take the fuel to the generator in the small courtyard behind the second MMU building. You should see it on the right side of a gate.

Press O to fill it with gas.

Finally, press Square to start it. The location is now unlocked and you are free to loot it.
