Mortal Kombat 11 Gets Jax Briggs and Sonya Blade’s Nemesis Kano

Allo love! Been a while

MK11 vs MKX Kano

Kano, one of the original Mortal Kombat fighters and Sonya Blade’s nemesis is officially a Mortal Kombat 11 confirmed character.

The announcement was made on Twitter along with a screenshot showing the leader of the Black Dragon criminal organization.

Although this may not be a surprise, it’s worth noting that in Mortal Kombat XI, Kano looks a bit different from the previous video game.

In the picture above, you can see his outfit from Mortal Kombat X (left) and how he looks like in MK11 (right).

Kano debuted in 1992 alongside Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, Raiden, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero and Scorpion. So far Mortal Kombat 11 includes all of these fighters except for Johnny Cage who was replaced by Cassie Cage.

Kano’s connection with Sony Blade is well known by fans of the franchise. The Black Dragon leader is a criminal pursued by Sonya Blade and Jax Briggs, both of them working for the Special Forces.

In fact, Sonya Blade enters the Mortal Kombat Tournament while trying to catch Kano.

Now, that Sonya and Kano have been confirmed as playable characters in Mortal Kombat 11, it would seem logical for NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon to announce Jax Briggs as well.

So far, the MK11 roster includes Baraka, Cassie Cage, Geras, Kano, Kitana, Kung Lao, Kronika, Liu Kang, Raiden, Scorpion, Shao Khan, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, KabalD’Vorah and Sub-Zero.

Scorpion was announced simultaneously with the official MK11 cover art; while Shao Khan is a bonus character for those who pre-order one of the game’s editions.

The rest of the Mortal Kombat 11 roster was confirmed during the Reveal Event last month; when NetherRealm Studios showcased the MK11 Prologue Story Trailer.

If you’re eager to play Mortal Kombat XI on PC, PlayStation 4, PC or Xbox One, you can already pre-order it from Gamestop (US) or GAME (UK).

All pre-orders will grant access to Shao Khan and the Mortal Kombat 11 Closed Beta which begins March 27th.

MK11 releases April 23, 2019, worldwide. Until then, check the exclusive Kano skin in the video below.
