With the release of the Frozen Wilds expansion, you can now upgrade your spear in Horizon Zero Dawn. This allows you to use modifications on it to increase its damage. In this Horizon Zero Dawn guide, we are going to go over how you can upgrade the spear in the game.
How To Upgrade Spear In Horizon Zero Dawn
Meet with Kamut at the camp that is close to the hot springs. He will give you a secret quest. When you do the quest you will ender a drone station that is no longer in use. This is on the northern side of the map. Here you will find an item that you have to bring to Kamut.
Basically, this is a fetch quest and if you have played other open-world games then you might have done a couple of them already. This will unlock the slots that you can use to modify your spear. Spear modifications are similar to the modifications on other weapons. Open the crafting tab in order to access this option and then install the modifications that you have in your inventory into your spear.
Note that once you have used a modification it is going to be destroyed and you will not be able to use it again. So choose wisely when you swap a modification in favor of another one that might seem to be better.
The difference is in the representation as the spear modifications that you can use will be shown in triangles rather than circles. This is how you can upgrade your spear in Horizon Zero Dawn.
