Horizon Zero Dawn Frostclaw Guide: How To Kill

Horizon Zero Dawn

A Frostclaw is a massive bear-like machine in Horizon Zero Dawn. This is a deadly machine and it can easily kill you if you do not know how to defend yourself and where to attack it. In this Horizon Zero Dawn guide, we are going to go over how you can kill a Frostclaw in the game.

This machine is very similar to the Fireclaw. Note that this machine is exclusive to The Frozen Wilds, so you will need to own the DLC in order to go up against it.

How To Kill A Fireclaw In Horizon Zero Dawn

The body of the Frostclaw is weak against fire and is strong against Freeze. We recommend using Fire arrows on its body in order to deal the most damage and take down the machine quickly.

Scan the machine with your focus in order to find the different weak spots that it has. Once you have done that you will find the Freeze Sac. Shooting at this will trigger an explosion that will freeze the monster in place for a while. This will allow you to land a couple of strikes without having the machine move around.

The Frostclaw also has a Freeze unit. Shooting this will trigger an explosion as well. It will also disable the frost-based attacks of the machine. Making the rest of the encounter much easier.

Now that you have done major damage and have also deprived the machine of its freeze attacks, you can aim for the power cells at the back of the machine. You can shoot them with Tear or Shock arrows. Use Shock arrows to trigger an explosion and deal high damage. Use Tear arrows in order to remove the component and pick it up later on.

This is how you can kill a Frostclaw in Horizon Zero Dawn. If you are interested in learning more about the game then you can check out our guide on how you can kill a Scorcher.
