Horizon Zero Dawn Rockbreaker Guide: How To Kill

Horizon Zero Dawn Rockbreaker

The Rockbreaker is one of the tougher machines to take down in Horizon Zero Dawn. You will find some in the wild but killing one is also part of the story so you need to know what you are dealing with if you want to finish the game. In this Horizon Zero Dawn guide, we are going to go over how you can kill a Rockbreaker.

How To Kill A Rockbreaker In Horizon Zero Dawn

It is worth noting that the Rockbreaker is going to react to sound. If you are stealthy and do not jump around then you can go unnoticed. Used this to your advantage when taking on the machine.

Use your focus to scan the machine and see the weak points that it has. The body of the machine is weak against Freeze arrows and is strong against Fire arrows, so you do not want to use Fire here.

One of the annoying things about this machine is that it can go underground and attack you on its way up. You cannot attack it when it is underground. Luckily you can disable this move by destroying the Digging Arm of the machine. Shoot it with Tear arrows in order to remove the component and deal damage in the process.

The rest of the weak points do not have an elemental weakness so you can use any kind of arrows that you like. The machine has an exhaust port which it is going to use to avoid overheating. Shoot at this to deal high amounts of damage.

The machine also has a fuel sack. Shoot at this to do high damage. Destroying this component is also going to disable the ranged elemental attacks of the Rockbreaker. Destroying the component is going to trigger an explosion so you should keep a safe distance.

Once you have done that, the rest of the fight is going to be fairly simple. This is how you can kill a Rockbreaker in Horizon Zero Dawn.
