Tom Clancy’s The Division 2: How to Unlock Crafting and Workbench

The Division 2 Crafting Guide

Just as the Clans, Crafting in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, is a feature that must be unlocked before you can benefit from it in Ubisoft‘s latest tactical third-person shooter video game.

The Division 2 Crafting System allows you to get better gear and weapons using various Crafting Materials and Blueprints.

However, when you start the game, you won’t be able to craft anything; simply because you won’t be able to access the workbench.

This feature is unlocked only by finding a specific NPC, named Inaya al-Khaliq.

Here is how to unlock the workbench in The Division 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

How to Unlock the Crafting Station in The Division 2

When you enter Washington D.C, your first objective is to reach the White House.

Focus on finishing the first main mission in the videogame and after that fight your way to the Theater Settlement. It is the second main establishment in The Division 2, and you can get there simply by following the game’s first assignments.

At the Theater Settlement if you check the rooftop you’ll find Inaya al-Khaliq, but you won’t be able to recruit her unless you complete the Grand Washington Hotel main mission.

Once you beat the said mission (which is quite accessible), return to Inaya al-Khaliq and she’ll join you.

Finally, Fast Travel or walk back to the White House and look for Inaya al-Khaliq at the Base of Operations.

If you talk to her again, the  Crafting Station unlocks and you’ll be able to start crafting.

Crafting Requirements

Beside the Crafting Station, in The Division 2, you also need blueprints and materials.

Just like in the first Division video game, the crafting materials can be obtained by dismantling the items (weapons, equipment) you obtain but don’t need.

Alternatively, you can also obtain crafting materials from various lootable objects in the game (crates, boxes, containers).

The Division 2 Blueprints are mostly given for completing missions for various NPCs or can be purchased from vendors.

This means that you should always check to what shops have for sale; keeping in mind that not all vendors sell the same items.

Ultimately, it’s worth noting that some pieces of equipment you can craft require a Crafting Station of a higher rank. Try to upgrade it as fast as you can.
