The fights and interactions with Monsters have a grading system in Monster Hunter Stories 2. The better you perform, and the faster you complete a fight, the higher your chance of getting an S Rank. However, an S Rank is not easy, and you will have to perfect in combat. This Monster Hunter Stories 2 guide will include all the details on how to acquire an S Rank. 

How to Get S Rank in Battles in Monster Hunter Stories 2

There are five Ranks in Monster Hunter Stories 2: S, A, B, C, and D. S is the highest Rank one can get from a fight. Getting a Rank depends on how many battle points you accumulate in a fight.

You can earn S Rank on 500 battle points, A is on 350 or above, B is on 250 or above, C is on 150 or above, and D is on 50 or above. The more battle points you have, the higher your Rank is, and the greater your rewards will be. You get bonus items and monster parts on higher Ranks. Rank S gets 5 bonus items, A gets 4 bonus items, B gets 3 bonus items, C gets 2 bonus items, and D gets 1 bonus item. 

Battle Points

You need to earn battle points to get a higher Rank. You can earn these by many different methods. Completing the fight in a few turns is an efficient way. If you go undefeated in head-to-head matches, then your chances of getting those points will increase. You also need to make use of your abilities as much as you can. Finishing off Monsters by using special attacks, double attacks, or skills can be useful. 

If you get into a fight with a weaker Monster, you can “Quick Finish” the fight that will allow you to complete the fight as soon as possible and surely get you an S. Remember that you can only perform this if you are on a very high level to that of the enemy. During the fight, you will also receive notifications on how far you are to an S Rank.
