Since this is a large animal, several headshots are required even if you use a Springfield Rifle. Use the Dead Eye and aim for the animal’s head to take it down faster.

Should you spook the moose, don’t leave the hunting area. Instead, start tracking the animal again until you see it. The animal will not leave the premise.

Now it is possible that you may encounter the animal closer than you may prefer. In this instance, You must be equipped with a shotgun with slug ammo to maximize your damage output.

To get rid of this monstrosity quickly, you must aim for the heart or for its head. However, take note that you don’t end up getting too close to the beast. Otherwise, You’ll be amazed at the amount of damage a close-ranged strike could do.

Be Careful

If there’s one thing to avoid when going at it with this animal is to not let it die while it’s in water. Why’s that? It will most definitely sink into the bottom and the carcass will not be available to be skinned anymore.

This is why we always advise that before you kill the legendary moose make sure that it is nowhere near water and even if it is have it chased out. Because let’s be real, You don’t want to lose that precious carcass over a mishap.
