Horizon Zero Dawn Stormbird Guide: How To Kill

Horizon Zero Dawn Stormbird

The Stormbird is one of the few machines in Horizon Zero Dawn that can fly. This is a bird-like machine and it can take a while to take one down if you do not know what you are doing. You are going to have to take one down during the campaign so you cannot avoid it. In this Horizon Zero Dawn guide, we are going to go over how you can take down a Stormbird.

How To Kill A Stormbird In Horizon Zero Dawn

The Stormbird is strong against shock damage so that is not something that you are going to want to use for this encounter. Use your focus to find the different weak points of the Stormbird. The first thing that you want to do is damage the Engine. This is weak towards Tear damage. Shoot at it to remove it and it will disable the dive attack of the Stormbird. We recommend doing this as this is a tricky attack to dodge.

The body of the machine is pretty hard and does not have any weakness. So you should be going for the critical points in order to deal the most amount of damage per shot and take out the machine quickly.

The Stormbird has another weapon called the lightning gun. This allows it to shoot lightning projectiles at you. Use your focus to find this if needed and shoot it with Tear arrows in order to remove it. This will keep the machine from firing those presky projectiles at you.

The Stormbird has a couple of Cannisters on it. These are weak to Fire and Tear. You should use fire arrows in order to trigger explosions and deal damage. The machine also has freeze canisters on it. Shoot at them with freeze ammo in order to trigger a frost blast. This will keep the machine frozen in place for a while and will also deal a significant amount of damage.
