Capcom Announces Devil May Cry 5 And the Trailer Offers More Details Than You Can Imagine

Hey honey! Need assistance?

At E3 2018, Capcom presented the next installment in the Devil May Cry franchise with a trailer that is worth watching even if you are not a fan of the series.

The Devil May Cry 5 Announcement Trailer above was revealed during Microsoft’s press conference; immediately after Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Session, and Black Desert.

Regardless if you are a DMC fan or not, you have to admit that the trailer for Devil May Cry 5 looks pretty badass, and it is definitely a video game we should keep on our radars.

But for those who have played other Devil May Cry video games, the footage actually offers some interesting information on what to expect from Capcom’s latest DMC game.

Devil May Cry 5 Announcement Trailer Characters

First of all, it is important to know the protagonists from the latest DMC5 trailer. Those who have not played all Devil May Cry games will most likely believe that the gray-haired demon slayer is Dante. But in fact, it is Nero who debuted in Devil May Cry 4 alongside Dante.

In the said installment, Nero, an orphan and a Holy Knight of the Order; actually, fights Dante, but in the end, they get to work together.

With that being said, if you wish to see Dante in the DMC 5 trailer you can fast-forward to the end, and you should spot him riding a bike.

The next character we get to know is a female named Nico. Apparently, Nico is Nero’s sidekick and ally. She also built Nero’s right arm as she explains to a soldier at 1:20. Now you will probably wonder what happened to Nero’s demonic arm known as Devil Bringer?

At 2:11 we find out that it was stolen by an unknown character wearing a cape. While this is only a speculation, it is believed that the mysterious man is Vergil, Dante’s twin brother.

Devil May Cry 5 Setting

Judging by Dante’s age and the characters revealed, it is safe to say that DMC 5 takes place several years after Devil May Cry 4. The exact number remains unknown so far.

The place? Red Grave City of course; where a new demonic invasion is about to take place.

Nero’s Weapons

Without the Devil Bringer, Nero is using a replacement forged by Nico. His real demonic arm (the one stolen) also seems to be the reason for which our hero is looking for Dante.

Additionally, we can spot his Red Queen, a large mechanical sword equipped with a handbrake; as well as Nero’s Blue Rose double-action revolver.

The Devil May Cry 5 trailer song you can hear in the background is performed by Ali Edwards and it is simply named Devil Trigger.

DMC 5 is coming to PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One on March 8, 2019. The release date was revealed by Capcom at Gamescom 2018.
