Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer was planned by CDPR but the developer never really confirmed it. Every time the devs were asked about it they mentioned that it is something that they are looking into and that for now, the team is focused on releasing the base game. Now Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer has officially been confirmed.
CDPR has officially announced that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer is in development and the team is hiring talent for the aspect of the game. Here is what CDPR had to say regarding the matter:
Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D. As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single-player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer’s in the works! If you feel like lending us your skills apply.
If you think you have what it takes and are interested in applying then check out the official site for more information regarding vacancies. The devs went on to talk about the roadmap. CDPR mentioned that for now, the team is working on delivering the base game in April. Then free DLCs will roll out. After that players will be able to check out the multiplayer part of the game. Here is what the team had to say regarding the matter:
The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.
There is little that we know about the DLCs right now. We do not know anything about the multiplayer part of the game but it could be similar to GTA Online. If that is the case and we get support for mods then it will be very cool indeed.
What we do know for sure is that most of the game is going to be in the first-person perspective. Even the sex scenes. The game is going to offer players a lot of flexibility and everyone is going to get the same content no matter which version of the game they buy.
Let us know what you think about Cyberpunk 2077 getting multiplayer and whether or not you are interested in playing the game when it comes out in April 2020.
