When asked about them, Brad Hilderbrand, Respawn PR manager, told Kotaku:
“All the maps in Titanfall and Titanfall 2 had a hidden Nessie somewhere in them, so the team kept her legend alive in Apex.”
In Scottish folklore, Nessie or Niseag is the name of the Loch Ness Monster; a creature said to dwell in Loch Ness.
While nobody actually saw Nessie in real life, Respawn Entertainment continues to add at least one cute toy version of the Loch Ness Monster to every game developed by the studio.
Several Nessie Easter eggs can be found in Titanfall, while Titanfall 2 features a hidden shrine full of little Nessie toys worshiping a bigger stripped Nessie (see below).
Obviously, Respawn Entertainment also added the Nessie Easter egg to Apex Legends; and will most likely do the same for their upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Keep in mind though that the Apex Legends Nessie Easter egg won’t unlock special or secret rewards; however, it’s definitely worth finding if you are a Titanfall fan.
Where to Find Apex Legends Nessie Easter Egg
The Apex Legends Nessie Easter egg can be found on the game’s training map; which means that you actually have to play this section.
If you skipped it, you can access it from the main menu.
The moment you start the training mission, head east towards the center of the map, then jump over the iron fence on the right side of the targets (pictured below).
In the next area, you should see a ramp on your left side.
Follow the said ramp, then go right, around the metal structure in the following picture.
Now, drop down in front of the fence at the edge of the map, and turn left. Continue to move forward until you reach a gap between the iron fence (on your right) and a rocky wall. You can see the said gap below.
Finally, look down to spot the Titanfall Nessie Easter egg.
