Tremonius is the first boss that you are going to encounter in the game and he is kind of a demo boss so he is easy to deal with. He does not dodge any of your attacks unless your throw grenades at him, so you can damage him with any weapon that you want.
The boss has a shield in addition to his health bar. Using plasma weapons is going to be most effective against the shield and kinetic weapons are going to be most effective against the health bar. Aim for the head in order to deal the most damage and take out the boss as fast as possible.
