Xiao is a 5-star Anemo user and while some people in the community are not fond of him, he is a pretty good unit to play. To make the most of the character you are going to need to level him up and provide him with the right weapon and artifacts. In this Genshin Impact guide, we are going to go over the materials you need to level up Xiao and his talents and a build for him.
Genshin Impact Xiao Ascension And Talent Materials
The following are all the materials that you need to level up Xiao and upgrade his talents to the max.
You need the following ascension materials to level up Xiao to 90:

Qingxin is a flower that you can find in the open world. It is typically located on peaks and other high places. Slime Condensate and higher-tier variants of the resource can be farmed by beating Slimes. Once you have the base resources, you can turn them into the higher-tier variants at the crafting table.

Best Genshin Impact Xiao Build
Leveling up Xiao and his talents are not going to be enough. In order to deal high amounts of damage, you also need to get the right artifacts and weapon. The following is the build that we recommend for Xiao in Genshin Impact.
If you are going for an Anemo DPS build then we can recommend the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. The weapon has crit rate as the bonus stat which is ideal for dealing high damage. Its passive increases attack by 3.2% for 6 seconds and this can stack up to 7 times. At max stacks, the damage is increased by 12%.
Alternatively, another great 5-star weapon is the Staff of Homa. It has crit damage as the bonus stat and its passive increases HP by 20% and gives you an attack buff based on your max HP. This buff is increased even further when HP drops below 50%.
If you are not interested in spending all those Primogems on the weapons banner then we can recommend Blackcliff Pole. This is a great 4-star weapon that has crit damage as the bonus stat. It’s passive increases your attack after you have defeated an enemy. This buff lasts for 30 seconds and can stack up to 3 times.
If you are a low-spender then we can also recommend Deathmatch, which you can get from the battle pass. It has crit rate as the bonus stat and when there are at least 2 enemies around you then attack and defense are increased by 16%. If there are fewer than 2 enemies then attack is increased by 24%.
If you are relatively new to the game and do not have the above-mentioned weapons then you can use White Tassel. This is a 3-star weapon that has crit rate as the bonus stat and the perk increases normal attack damage by 24%.
If you are going for an Anemo DPS build then we can recommend 2-pieces of Gladiator’s Finale and 2-pieces of Viridescent Venerer. This is going to increase your attack by 18% and Anemo damage by 15%. We recommend getting attack on the sands, Anemo damage bonus on the goblet, and attack% on the hat.
