Childe is back in Genshin Impact as part of the 2.2 update. If you missed him last time or just want constellations then now is the time to wish on his banner. In order to make the most out of the character, you are will need to level him up and get the right artifacts. In this Genshin Impact guide, we are going to go over the ascension and talent materials you need to level up Childe and a build for him.
Genshin Impact Childe Ascension And Talent Materials
The following are the ascension and talent materials that you are going to need in order to level up Childe in Genhsin Impact.
Ascension Materials
The following are the ascension materials that you need to level 90 Childe:
- 1x Varunada Lazurite Sliver
- 9x Varunada Lazurite Fragment
- 9x Varunada Lazurite Chunk
- 6x Varunada Lazurite Gemstone
- 46x Cleansing Heart
- 168x Starconch
- 18x Recruit’s Insignia
- 30x Sergeant’s Insignia
- 36x Lieutenant’s Insignia
You can get the Varunada Lazurite Sliver, Fragments, Chunks, Gemstone, and Cleansing Heart from beating the Oceanid or the Primo Geovishap bosses. Each attempt is going to cost you 40 resin, so you will need to grind it out or replenish your resin.
You can find Starconch on the beaches of Liyue. You can get Recruit’s, Sergeant’s and Lieutenant’s Insignia by beating Fatui enemies.
Talent Materials
The following are the materials that you are going to need in order to max level all of Childe’s talents:
- 9x Teachings of Freedom
- 63x Guide to Freedom
- 114x Philosophies of Freedom
- 18x Recruit’s Insignia
- 66x Sergeant’s Insignia
- 93x Lieutenant’s Insignia
- 18x Shard of a Foul Legacy
- 3x Crown of Insight
Crown of Insight is exclusive to special events. You can typically get one from each event. You can get Shard of a Foul Legacy by beating Childe, the weekly boss in the Golden House.
Best Genshin Impact Childe Build
In order to deal high amounts of damage and make the most out of Childe, you are going to need the right weapon and artifacts. The following is the build that we recommend for Childe in Genshin Impact.
Best Weapons
Thundering Pulse is one of the best weapons that you can use on Childe. This is a 5-star weapon so you will need to have wished on the banner and already have it. The bonus effect of the weapon is crit damage which is what you need on Childe. The weapon also buffs your attacks.
Skyward Harp is a great alternative. This is yet another 5-star weapon. The secondary stat of the weapon is crit rate which will allow you to deal crit damage more often. The passive increases crit damage which is a great combination. The weapon also has a chance of dealing AoE damage.
The Viridescent Hunt is a 4-star weapon that we can recommend. It has crit rate as the secondary stat. The perk allows attacks to create a cyclone 50% of the time that will pull enemies in and deal damage.
Best Artifacts
Heart of Depth is the best set that you can go for. It increases Hydro damage by 15% and with 4-pieces on, normal and charged attack damage is increased by 40% for 15 seconds after an elemental skill is used. We recommend having crit rate or crit damage on the head or mask piece and getting hydro damage bonus on the goblet.
Childe is very flexible when it comes to artifacts. So if you do not have a good Heart of Depth set then you can go for 2-pieces Heart of Depth and 2-pieces Noblesse Oblige. This is going to increase hydro damage by 15% and elemental burst damage by 20%.
The Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is also a set that you can try on Childe. It increases attack by 18%. It also increases normal, charged, and plunge damage by 50% for 10 seconds in exchange for 15 energy. Do note that energy management can be a bit tricky with Shimenawa’s Reminiscence especially when you are in the heat of battle.
