The artifacts slot is not going to available to you when you launch Borderlands 3. You will have to unlock it. In this Borderlands 3 guide, we are going to walk you through how you can unlock the artifacts slot for your character.
How To Unlock And Use Artifacts In Borderlands 3
Artifacts will start dropping as you progress through the game but you will not be able to use them as the slot is not going to be unlocked. You can save the artifacts that you like for later and sell the ones that you do not find useful.
To unlock the artifact slot, you need to complete the Cold as the Grave main quest in Borderlands 3. This is on Eden-6. The essence of this quest is to beat Graveward, the faint creature that guards the Vault to Eden-6. Once you have defeated the creature, wait for the large portal to appear.
Go through the portal and you will be transported to Vault of the Graveward. Go to the pedestal and take the artifact called Eridian Synchronizer.
Once you have done that, the fourth slot will be unlocked and you will be able to use artifacts. Just click on the artifact that you want to use on your character and it will be slotted into the respective slot.
You should pick the artifact that improves your build. If your character does not have a lot of HP then you should look for artifacts that increase your HP or improve HP regeneration.
