After you find and free Trelawny during Magicians for Sport, you can start Friends in Very Low Places; a Chapter 3 story mission featured in Red Dead Redemption 2, the video game developed by Rockstar Studios for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This mission is extremely important for you, because, besides the fact that it unlocks a series of Coach Robberies, you’ll be able to get the most while robbing coaches, making these side-activities more productive.
In RDR2, Friends in Very Low Places is a short mission with only 2 goals you need to complete in order to get the Gold Medal.
Although both of them are quite easy to accomplish if you follow our walkthrough below, it’s always a good idea to save the game before talking to Trelawny at Clemens Point.
“Trelawny causes a distraction as Arthur robs a stagecoach in Scarlett Meadows following a tip-off from a discouraged worker at Rhodes post office..”
Gold Medal Goals:
- Complete the mission without being spotted
- Complete the mission within eight minutes and 10 seconds
Start the mission by talking to Trelawny at Clemens Point. You’ll find him at the location marked on your map by his icon (T). If you have difficulties, look for him resting by a tree as pictured below.
Once you greet Trelawny, he’ll tell you that he found the problem when robbing stagecoaches. Meaning that you usually don’t know what you rob and what’s inside a stagecoach.
Thus, Trelawny thinks that it’s better to rob stagecoaches that actually worth robbing. Which seems quite normal.
So, let’s see how you can find which stagecoach should be robbed in Red Dead Redemption 2. Mount your horse and ride to the Rhodes station.
Wait while Trelawny approaches Alden, the clerk, then bribe him. Alden is a key character that will play an important role in the stagecoach robberies from Red Dead Redemption 2.
You can find more about him by accessing the activities section featured in our RDR2 wiki.
Once you bribe Alden, he will sell you a tip on the Siltwater Strand Coach.
Make sure you access the document below from your satchel; then follow Trelawny to the crossroads where the stagecoach should arrive.
Once you get the Lock Braker from Trelawny, wait for the stagecoach, then trail it, maintaining a safe distance.
Gold Medal Goal Tip: In order to complete Friends in Very Low Places within 8 minutes and 10 seconds, switch the camera to Trelawny while trailing the coach. This action will actually stop the timer, thus you’ll be able to beat the timer.
As you follow the stagecoach, it will eventually stop. Dismount and head to the bushes on the left side of the road. Notice the road sign in the picture below.
Gold Medal Goal Tip: Make sure you stay in the bushes pictured above, and do not move past the road sign. Wait for Mrs. Damsen to exit the stagecoach, and move towards the stagecoach when you hear her sing.
Remain crouched and approach the back of the stagecoach where you should see a box. Use the Lock Breaker to open it, then take the money inside.
Now, all you have to do is to retrace your steps back to the signpost and wait for the stagecoach to leave.
Meet Trelawny and talk to him to complete Friends in Very Low Places with a Gold Medal. Completing Friends in Very Low Places in Red Dead Redemption 2 is a requirement for unlocking A Short Walk in a Pretty Town story mission.
