Returnal Nemesis Boss Guide: How To Beat

Returnal Nemesis Boss

Returnal has its share of bosses that keep you on your toes. The boss fights can be hectic and spontaneous at the same time. On top of this, the combat makes the gameplay more enjoyable and exhilarating. After defeating the first two bosses and coming to the third Biome, you will face Nemesis. If you have fought the Radiance in Hollow Knight, you know what is coming for you in Returnal. This Returnal guide will include all the tips on how to trounce the Nemesis boss.

How To Beat Nemesis Boss In Returnal

Nemesis in Returnal likes to keep its distance, so you will have to make use of your long-ranged guns. Hollowseeker and Tachyomatic Carbine can be instrumental. Use Serrated Projectiles and Waves traits for Hollowseeker and Leech Rounds and Hardened traits for Tachyomatic Carbine.

The First Phase

The giant floating creature does not show any weak spots for you to shoot. However, the glowing red area beneath its blue skull does good damage. In the entire fight, you have to stay on your toes and show proper focus. If you stop for a few seconds, that could mean death for you.

Nemesis will not stop attacking you with homing blue energy balls. These can be strafed easily by going sideways. Always keep your aim on the boss and keep shooting it while strafing every orb. As the phase goes on, you might notice floating skeletons around it. These skeletons come close to you from time to time and shoot lasers at you. Dodging them is the only option as it covers a wide area.

The Second Phase

You will know the second phase has started as soon as your main platform breaks. You will have to use Icarian Grapnel to get to platforms that are near it. Two skeletons will now shoot lasers at you. Whenever the laser touches the ground, it will create rings of energy, and you will need to jump. You will have to strafe all the orbs from the boss and keeping your ground during this phase.

The Third Phase (Madness!!)

In this phase, Nemesis moves even farther away from you. Every platform you touch breaks soon enough. You will have to use Grapnel to move from platform to platform, all while shooting the boss. As if the platforms breaking were not enough, Nemesis shoots purple homing lasers and orbs at you, making platforming hard.

You can use the platforms so that you do not get hit. There is a chance that you will not get hit during Grapnel, so you can try that as well. Even when you come close to the boss, do not forget about your footing. The platform will break, and you always have to go on from one platform to the other.

With enough determination, you will defeat the boss and can continue to the next Biome. This is how you can beat Nemesis in Returnal. If you are interested in learning more then you can check out our guide on how you can get the secret ending.

I love supporting my team in the workspace and in Summoner's Rift. Unleashing Haymaker Grit as Sett, jumping from wall to wall as Lucio or giving shot calls as a tank in Ahn'Qiraj, supporting is what I do. I love the Soulsborne series and enjoy a good multiplayer.
