Kena: Bridge Of Spirits is out now and while the graphics look great and it appears to be a cute little game, it can be pretty challenging. In this Kena: Bridge Of Spirits guide, we are going to give you some tips and tricks that should make the game easier for you.
Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Tips And Tricks
The following are some useful tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Kena: Bridge Of Spirits:
Find And Collect Collectibles
Collectibles in Kena: Bridge Of Spirits are going to help you one way or another. Finding the rot creatures is going to help you solve puzzles and combat. They are going to increase your level as well. Hats are the only things in the game that are just there for looks but other things are going to have their uses. Explore the world when you can in order to find these collectibles.
You Do Not Need To Hoard Currency
The game is going to give you plenty of in-game currency so you can spend it on cosmetics if you like. You do not have to save it up in case you might need it later on. Enjoy the game and spend it if you feel like it. There is plenty from where that came from.
Get The Rot Hammer Upgrade
The Rot Hammer upgrade is worth getting and hence is one of our first Kena: Bridge Of Spirits tips. Save your karma in order to get it as it is very powerful. It is going to turn your heavy attacks into a hammer that is infused with the rot. Not to mention that you can use it from afar. While other upgrades are great, this one is going to help you out the most against mini-boss encounters.
The Rot Can Help You
During combat, you can slowly build up courage which you can use to pull off a Rot Action. When this is available you can use the Rot to deal damage by attack enemies directly. The creatures can also find Blue flowers that can heal you. Some of the creatures even give you attack boosts.
You Should Play Aggressively
The devs have been inspired by the likes of Soulsborne games and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and you can see that when you play Kena. The combat is hard but you should play aggressively and use the rot abilities in order to deal damage and turn the tables.
Dodging Is Key
Dodging is the name of the game in Kena. Enemies can do a lot of damage and you need to practice dodging in order to avoid taking damage and increasing your chances of survival. The dodge ability allows you to get in, land a few hits, and then get out.
Go For The Weak Spots
Enemies, mini-bosses, and bosses have weak spots. These are marked in yellow. You can shoot these with your bow in order to dislodge crystalized chunks that transform into gold energy that is going to fill your courage gauge. You can use it to pull off Rot abilities.
Blocking Should Be A Final Option
Kena has a shield that she can use in order to block incoming attacks. While this is great, this is not something that you should rely on heavily. This is something that you should use as a final option. The shield is going to slow down Kena. This might not seem like an issue early on in the game, but when you start facing hordes of enemies and bosses, then you are going to find yourself in a problematic situation if you rely on blocking with the shield.
Friendly Fire Is On
The game has friendly fire. This is a double-edged sword as Kena can damage herself with her attacks. This also means that bigger enemies can damage smaller enemies. You can and should use this to your advantage when possible.
Use Warp Stones To Fast Travel
The game does not tell you this but you can use Warp Stones in order to fast travel and move across the world faster. This is one of the Kena: Bridge Of Spirits tips that is going to save you a lot of time. You can think of these stones as the bonfires in Dark Souls. Using these stones is going to be much faster than running.
These are the Kena: Bridge Of Spirits tips that you should keep in mind when playing the game.
