How To Kill A Behemoth In Horizon Zero Dawn

The body of the machine is pretty tough and is not weak to any element. It is strong against shock damage so do not use shock weapons against it. Use the focus to scan the machine in order to find its weak points. The Crate Holders are weak against pretty much anything and are not strong against any element. So you can shoot them with anything to deal damage and detach the cargo container.

The Behemoth also has Freeze Cannisters. You can shoot them with tear arrows in order to remove them and pick them up later or you can shoot them with freeze arrows in order to trigger a frost blast. The freezing blast is going to freeze the beast in place for a while allowing you to land critical strikes.

The Force Loader is another weak point that you can shoot at with tear ammo. This is going to trigger an explosion so stay away as it can throw you back and you will be damaged. Doing this will disable the listing attacks of the machine,

Next, we have the power cells. Shoot at them with shock arrows to trigger a shock explosion that will paralyze the machine for a while. You can also use tear arrows in order to remove the component and then pick it up later.

The Behemoth does not have fast attacks but it can rush you. In order to keep it in place and deal some damage you can use the rope caster to tie it down. This will let you fire some accurate shots at the weak points of the machine.
