Kjotve the Cruel is one of the bosses that you need to beat pretty early on in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. You get the raven clan helmet as well as the Order of the Ancients Medallion for beating the boss. The encounter is divided into three phases. The following is what you need to know about beating Kjotve the Cruel.
How To Beat Kjotve The Cruel In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
During the first phase of the fight, the boss is not going to use any weapons. But that does not mean that he is not a worthy opponent. Is going to try to shorten the gap between you and him. In doing so Kjotve is going to try and grab you. When you see the red aura before you get hit then that means that the attack cannot be blocked and that you will need to dodge to the side.
Once you have dodged his attack, you can land a couple of quick attacks. The best time to land some blows is right after you have dodged an incoming attack. If you step away from him then you can do perform some ranged attacks as well. Just be sure to shoot his head in order to deal the most damage.
Once Kjotve loses 25% of his health, the second phase of the boss fight is going to start. During this phase, the boss is not going to fight with his fists but is going to get his weapons out instead. Kjotve is going to use a pair of axes to fight you. When he goes for the weapons, you can use your bow to land a few ranged hits or used a ranged ability to deal some damage.
Kjotve will lift up his axe and will try to hit you with a powerful swing. The attack comes with a red prompt so you will need to dodge the attack as it cannot be blocked or parried. Getting hit by the attack can be very devastating. When you successfully dodge the attack the boss is going to be vulnerable to attack.
Kjotve the Cruel can also jump into the air and try and hit you with both of his axes. You can choose to run away or dodge to the side in order to avoid taking damage. Kjotve can also jump and hit you with his knee. If you get hit you will lose a lot of your health, be knocked back, and be open to other incoming attacks so it is important that you dodge this attack and move out of the way.
When you see Kjotve’s axes go orange this means that he is about to use his special attack. He will come at you and swing one weapon after the other at you. He can also attack you with both at the same time. The attack has plenty of range so dodging behind the boss is going to be a good idea. This will give you enough time to deal a single heavy attack or two light attacks.
Whenever the boss misses an attack or charges too far off, be sure to attack him with your bow. This will allow you to deal damage and get to the next phase of the battle faster. The third phase starts in the new area. You are going to have less space to move around in when that happens.
We recommend block and dodge attacks but do not keep close to the boss for too long. The attacks have prompts so if you are quick, you should be safe.
