You can repair your weapons and armor at the repair bench on the lower right side of the camp. Interact with it to see all the gear you can repair. Only damaged equipment will show up in this inventory. Repairing weapons and armor does not take any resources from you. It only requires a small bundle of your souls. This way, you can save the resources for crafting and upgrades for the village.
If you have high-tier equipment with low durability, then that will cost you quite some soul. However, you will most likely get high-tier equipment later on in the game. This means that you will already have a lot of souls and have ways to farming souls faster.
