This fight happens in the ending part of the main quest of The Impending Storm. The annoying part of this fight is there is no place for you to get your ammo replenished. So try and gather the ammunition from the chests that are nearby before you jump into the hole.
How To Beat Captain Traunt In Borderlands 3
Captain Traunt looks like an opponent that is wearing heavy armor, which you might have come across in some of the earlier battles. Use the same strategy of using a ground pound by jumping up. In order to avoid unnecessary and highly damaging attacks from the boss, try and run away from the place where the boss might land.
The attacks from the boss are based mainly on two elements. One is fire and the other is ice. The boss uses different skills depending on the case. However, these can be categorized into two main groups.
Obstacles and Traps is the first group. They have the capacity of taking forms of lava pools or ice barricades. Keep an eye out, these can explode when you are near. Keep these obstacles in mind while you are shooting at the Captain.
Different kinds of projectiles are the other and the second group. These can either become a homing missile or fly straight in line. Dealing with the latter is a little bit more difficult. Try to move continuously or hide behind different different things to protect yourself from getting hit by the homing projectile.
In order to avoid boss attacks, you can explore the long corridors and walkers on the outside of the arena. There you will come across some enemy soldiers. Do not forget, only kill the mobs when they are a direct threat. They might help you in reviving your character in case you fall down.
Dont forget about the loot that you will get after killing Captain Traunt. In this loot, you will receive eridium, credits and new equipment. You will also be able to meet Maya, who is not going to take any part in this fight with the boss.
