Shadowmanes explained
In video games, mixing animals and creating hybrids is a common thing, but in most games, developers try and stick to some kind of logic, like a hybrid of a lion and a tiger, or two types of birds or something similar. However, in ARK Genesis 2, there is no such logic, enter the Shadowmanes which are actually a hybrid of a cat and some type of fish – crazy right?
Given the fact that this mix is so rare and unique, many players in Survival Evolved are after this animal.

Where to Find Shadowmane in Ark: Genesis Part 2
You can find Shadowmanes sleeping near purple rivers that are located lower-left portion of the map. Remember not to go to tame these creatures in the nighttime as they are invisible are quite active.
They are basically your nocturnal animals, you can say. They are not active during the day and are mostly slow to move and sleep near the purple rivers.

To tame a Shadowmane ark, you will first need to acquire a small amount of different fish. After catching the fishes from the river and putting them in the basket, make your way to the sleeping Shadowmane.
Approach the sleeping Shadowmane and feed it one of the fish. It will instantly wake up and go invisible. Next, use Taming tracker and track its movement.
It will end up in another place and sleep again. Repeat this process a couple of times and check the taming bar as it increases. Once it is full, you will have tamed a Shadowmane.
A Shadowmane is a mount creature that you can ride through the vast areas of the game. It is primarily used for traveling but can also be helpful when attacking dinos. It also has an ability that allows it to leap forward a little distance.
