D3 Go! had previously announced a video game based on the Alien universe, titled Alien: Blackout. The game has since been released and is now available for players.
While some Xenomorph hunters may be angry that it’s not a console game; remember that there are many other mobile games out there, inspired by bigger franchises.
Granted, some of them are great, while others…uhm…may need additional work.
To name just a few, we have Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion developed by Behavior Studios, EA’s Command & Conquer: Rivals developed by Redwood Studios, and Bethesda’s upcoming Elder Scrolls: Blades.
Welcome Back Amanda Ripley
Alien: Blackout was released on January 24, 2019, featuring Amanda Ripley, the protagonist from Alien: Isolation, as its central character.
If you didn’t play Alien: Isolation, you should know that Amanda is the daughter of Ellen Ripley. In Alien: Blackout, Amanda is trapped on the Weyland-Yutani space station which is also the home of a Xenomorph.
The mobile game is set between the films Alien and Aliens, and according to the official website is:
“a unique fear-inducing horror premium mobile game experience that will test the inner nerves of both Alien and horror fans alike, where life can end in an instant.”
Alien: Blackout features seven levels, but each decision you make through the game may lead to a different conclusion.
Last but not least, you’ll have to use only the space station’s power supply in order to survive. The limited power will allow you to access a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and a motion tracker.
Alien: Blackout is now available on both iOS and Android-based devices. D3 Go! had released a trailer leading up to the game’s launch, which garnered significant attention.
