Developer inXile Entertainment announced that the release date of Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep; or simply The Bard’s Tale 4, is September 18, 2018.

The first-person party-based role-playing dungeon crawler will be playable on PC first; while the console versions (PlayStation4 and Xbox One) will come later this year.

The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is a Kickstarter project which was successfully funded in 2015; and it releases 30 years after the first game of the franchise (Tales of the Unknown, Volume I: The Bard’s Tale).

Players will get the chance to explore Caith, a Scottish fantasy realm; and adventure into dangerous dungeons using a party of up to 6 heroes.

In Bard’s Tale 4: Barrows Deep, combat sequences use the turn-based model; thus allowing players to better analyze their opponents and the battlefield before making their moves.

According to inXile Entertainment, The Bard’s Tale 4 features over 30 hours of gameplay and 30 hours of Gaelic music which was composed by Ged Grimes.

On Kickstarter, The Bard’s Tale 4 project managed to raise $1,519,680, from 33,741 people.

If you wish to test your dungeon-crawling skills, you can already pre-order the PC version of Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep on the official website, and get access to the game’s beta.
