There are six islands in the game, each with multiple areas for you to explore and take photos of Pokémons. You can unlock islands by gaining Research Levels and by completing explicit tasks. This guide will include all the details on how to unlock islands in New Pokémon Snap.
How To Unlock Islands In New Pokémon Snap
Each island has three to six areas in it. The following is how to unlock every area on an island:
Florio Island
Florio Nature Park (Day) is unlocked from the start. You need to reach Research Level 2 in Florio Nature Park (Day) to unlock Florio Nature Park (Night). To unlock Illumina Spot, you need to complete the entire Florio Nature Park (Night).
Belusylva Island
Achieving Research Level 2 in all Florio Nature Park levels unlocks Founja Jungle (Day). To unlock Founja Jungle (Night), you need to achieve Research Level 2 in Founja Jungle (Day). To unlock Elsewhere Forest, you need to achieve Research Level 2 in Fireflow Volcano. Achieving Research Level 2 in Elsewhere Forest will unlock Elsewhere Forest (Illumina Spot).
Voluca Island
To unlock Sweltering Sands (Day), you need to achieve Research Level 2 in all Founja Jungle levels. Achieving Research Level 2 on Sweltering Sands (Day) will unlock Sweltering Sands (Night). To unlock Fireflow Volcano, you need to achieve Research Level 2 on Sweltering Sands (Night). Achieving Research Level 2 in Fireflow Volcano will unlock Fireflow Volcano (Illumina Spot).
Maricopia Islands
To unlock Blushing Beach (Day), you need to achieve Research Level 2 in all Founja Jungle levels. Achieving Research Level 2 in Shiver Snowfields (Night) will unlock Blushing Beach (Night). To unlock Maricopia Reef (Day), you need to achieve Research Level 2 in Blushing Beach (Day). Finishing the main story will unlock Maricopia Reef (Evening). To unlock Lental Seafloor (Undersea), you need to achieve Research Level 2 in Maricopia Reef (Day). Achieving Research Level 3 in Lental Seafloor will unlock Lental Seafloor (Illumina Spot).
Durice Island
To unlock Shiver Snowfields (Day), you need to take photos of Volcarona, Meganium, Milotic, Whishiwashi in their Illumina Forms. Achieving Research Level 2 in Shiver Snowfields (Day) will unlock Shiver Snowfields (Night). You can unlock Outaway Cave by achieving Research Level 2 in Shiver Snowfields (Night).
Aurus Island
You need to reach Research Level 2 on Outaway Cave to unlock the Ruins of Remembrance area.
