In Borderlands 3, you can play as Moze, Amara, FL4K or Zane. Amara is the Siren and she relies on her magical abilities. In this Borderlands 3 Amara guide, we are going to go over the best builds for this character. In doing so, we are also going to cover the different levels of the character and her abilities.

Amara can use her Siren abilities to attacks and weapon enemies. At the start of Borderlands 3, you can pick from different action skills. You can scare enemies with your astral projections, call upon a fist to catch enemies and damage them or smash the ground for AoE damage.

Borderlands 3 Amara Build

As your progress through Borderlands 3, you earn skill points which enable you to unlock new action skills. You can also invest and in perks and other skills as well. Amara also has an augment slot which can be used to increase her capabilities and increase her elemental damage.

Borderlands 3 Amara

Our build is for a character that fights in close quarters. With this build, Amara will weaken enemies with elemental damage. Amara has three skill trees, Brawl, Fist of the Elements and Mystical Assault. We are going to combine different skills from these trees for this build. Mystical Assault Skill Tree

The following is what you need to know about the Mystical Assault skill three which you have access to when you play as Amara the Siren in Borderlands 3.

Action Skills

At the start of the game, you only have access to Phasecast. As you progress you can unlock new action skills. The following are the different action skills that you can unlock when playing as Amara in Borderlands 3:

Requirements (Points) Skill Effects
0 Phasecast Amara creates an astral projection of herself and pushes it forward. It damages enemies it crosses paths with. It regenerates in about 30 seconds.
10 Deliverance Amara creates an astral projection of herself and pushes it forward. It damages enemies it crosses paths with. The projection fires guided missiles that do elemental damage..
15 Reverberation Amara creates an astral projection of herself and pushes it forward. It damages enemies it crosses paths with. The next enemy it hits will receive higher damage.
20 Tandava Amara creates an astral projection of herself and pushes it forward. It explodes when it comes into contact with something.

 

After you have invested a specific number of points, you can improve your abilities and unlock augments. The following are the augments that Amara can use in this skill tree:

Requirements (Points) Augment Augment/Element
5 Soul Sap 30% od the damage from your Action Skill returns as HP to Amara or other players in the squad.
10 Stillness of Mind Enemies become immobilized (Phaselock) while skill is active or they get damaged. Faster cooldown of action skill.

Passive Abilities

Mystic Assault tree has a couple of passive abilities as well. You will spend most of your points on Passive abilities. The following is what you need to know about them:

0 Do Harm Kill an enemy gives you a Rush stack. This can accumulate.
0 Fast Hand(s) bonus reload speed, weapon switch speed and firing mode switch speed.
0 Violent Tapestry Applying elemental status on enemy grants you Rush stack. This can accumulate.
5 Alactricity Gains reload speed bonus on each Rush stack.
5 Transcend Activating Action Skills provides accuracy and critical strike bonuses.
5 Restless Action Skill cooldown reduced. 5% for each level purchased.
10 Ascendant Improved (Augments) – Soul Sap, Allure, Glamour, Revelation and Stillness of Mind.
15 From Rest Attack speed and charging time bonus.
15 Laid Bare Amara’s Action Skill does more damage to the enemy.
15 Wrath Gun damage boost.
20 Remnant Killing an enemy with weapon or Action Skill summons a guided missile that kills other enemies.
20 Awakening Rush stacks are characterized by increased efficiency-about 10% per level.
25 Avatar Activate Action Skills during cooldown once per a cooldown.

Fist of the Elements Skill Tree

Next, we have the First of the Elements skill tree. The following is what you need to know about it.

Action Skills

At the start of the game, you only have access to Phasegrasp. As you progress you can unlock new action skills. The following are the different action skills that you can unlock when playing as Amara in Borderlands 3

Requirements (Points) Skill Name Action Skill Effects
0 Phasegrasp Summon an astral fist that catches attacks the enemy for a short duration.

A few enemies will not be caught but it the fist will still damage them.

10 The Eternal Fist Summon an astral fist that catches attacks the enemy for a short duration. The caught enemy will be killed. The fist can also try to catch another target.
20 Fist Over Matter Summon an astral fist that catches attacks the enemy for a short duration. Other fists will be summoned. These will damage enemies.
15 Ties that Bind Summon an astral fist that catches attacks the enemy for a short duration. Nearby enemies will be chained to target. Damage to the target will be shared by linked enemies.

 

After you have invested a specific number of points, you can improve your abilities and unlock augments. The following are the augments that Amara can use in this skill tree:

5 Soulfire (Action Skill Element) Action skill deals fire damage.
10 Allure (Action Skill Augment) Acton skill creates a Singularity that pulls enemies.

Passive Abilities

Fist of the Elements tree has a couple of passive abilities as well. You will spend most of your points on Passive abilities. The following is what you need to know about them:

0 Anima Elemental damage over increases over time and duration is longer.
0 Steady Hand(s) Weapon handling and accuracy bonus.
0 Infusion Transforms a portion of the damage dealt by a weapon to an elemental skill (Action Skill Element).
5 Tempest Deal increased elemental damage and Shock injuries.
5 Illuminated Fist Increased melee damage. Melee damage is converted to elemental skill (Action Skill Element).
5 Wildfire Applying status effect on enemy, has a chance to spread it on the nearest enemy.
10 Dread Catching an enemy in fist increases weapon damage for a few seconds. If a member of the team kills the captured enemy, the weapon will be reloaded instantly.
15 Indiscriminate Projectiles that wound enemies have a chance to ricochet and damage other enemies nearby. The chance and damage increases if the enemy is affected by Phasegrasp or Stillness of Mind.
15 Deep Well Ammo capacity bonus of 20% for elemental weapons.
15 Catharsis Killing enemy with elemental damage causes enemy to explode. The nature of the explosion is the same as the element that killed the enemy.
20 Sustainment Steal opponent’s HP after dealing elemental damage with a weapon.
20 Conflux Dealing elemental damage gives you a chance to electrocute, ignite, or melt the affected enemy.
25 Forceful Expression 20% elemental weapon damage bonus. Depending on the ability of the elements (Action Skill Element).

Brawl Skill Tree

Next, we have the Brawl skill tree. The following is what you need to know about it.

Action Skills

At the start of the game, you only have access to Phaseslam. As you progress you can unlock new action skills. The following are the different action skills that you can unlock when playing as Amara in Borderlands 3

Requirements (Points) Skill Action Skill Effects
0 Phaseslam Jump up and hit the ground. Enemies in the area are damaged and knocked back.

Default skill takes 35 seconds to cool down.

10 Fracture Summon fists that enemies in front of you.

Default skill takes 28 seconds to cool down.

15 Downfall Shoot an elemental beam from above. Fall to the ground after that.

Default skill takes up to 47 seconds to cool down.

 

After you have invested a specific number of points, you can improve your abilities and unlock augments. The following are the augments that Amara can use in this skill tree:

5 To Destroy In The Hands Of The Blight, The Head Of The Tiger (Action Skill Element) Action Skill deals corrosive damage.
10 Revelation (Action Skill Augment) Action Skill creates a Nova which deals damage to all nearby enemies when hit.
20 Glamour (Action Skill Augment) Enemies damaged by Action Skill become confused and attack each other. The cooldown gets longer.

Passive Abilities

The Brawl tree has a couple of passive abilities as well. You will spend most of your points on Passive abilities. The following is what you need to know about them:

0 Root to Rise HP bonus of 8% for each skill level acquired.
0 Personal Space Weapon damage bonus. Increases as you get close to the target.
0 Clarity Constantly regenerate HP. Regen becomes more powerful as HP is lowered. Activating an Action Skill doubles the regeneration for a short amount of time.
5 Arms Deal Deal increased Splash Damage. Receive reduced Splash Damage.
5 Samsara Gets a Samsara stack every time you deal damage with an Action skill. Every Samsara stack increases weapon damage and improves HP regen.
5 Helping Hand(s) Amara after using a skill Action Skill gets, after a while, less damage.
10 Mindfulness Gets a Mindfulness stack every time you get damage.
10 Find Your Center Melee damage and melee range bonus.
10 Vigor The team gains movement speed bonuses after killing an enemy with an action skill.
15 One With Nature Gain bonus physical damage resistance and maximum health bonus while using the elemental Action Skill.
20 Do unto Others When taking damage, Amara throws an Energy Orb dealing extra elemental damage. This is a short cooldown skill.
20 Jab Cross Gains an Action Skill damage bonus and firearm damage when dealing melee damage.
20 Guardian Angel Get up immediately when Fight For Your Life is triggered.
25 Blitz Throw yourself forward and do a special attack. You do need to press the melee button. Successful attack does elemental damage.
