How To Beat Successor Of The Ribcage In Code Vein
In the first phase of this boss battle, you need to quickly get to the boss. Sprint forward and use the columns on the left and right for cover. When the boss starts to do its AoE attack you need to run towards the opposite end of the room.
You need to do this a couple of times. If you are slow then you can use the pillars as cover. Some AoE attacks are also going to spawn under you, so you will have to roll out of those areas as well. The following are all the moves that the Successor of the Ribcage uses in Code Vein:
Arc Beam
The boss will shoot a beam in the shape of an arc from left to right. To avoid this attack you can use the columns and hide behind them. Once the attack is over, you can head to the boss quickly and land a few hits.
Ichor Bomb
The boss will spawn ichor bombs under you. You will see circles under you. Get out of the circles to avoid damage.
Two Hit Combo
When you see electricity in the hands of the boss then it will strike forward two times quickly. You can roll forward and get behind the boss and attack from behind until the boss does another attack.
Teleport
When you see fire in the hands of the boss then it will use an AoE explosion attack at her current location and teleport to the other side of the arena. When you notice the fire, you need to head to the other side of the room and wait for the boss to appear. You can deal damage once the boss teleports to your new location.
Ice Shard Attack
When you see ice in its hand, it will throw ice shards at you. You can roll forward to dodge or use the columns as cover.
Thunder Storm Attack
When the boss has electricity and mist in its hand, it will use a thunderstorm attack. Storms will appear at your location. You need to keep moving so that you do not get damaged.
In the second phase of the boss battle, the boss will get more aggressive but the basics of the encounter are still going to be the same. The boss is going to use all the moves of phase one but there are a couple of new moves that the Successor of the Ribcage can use. The new moves are below.
Fire Beam
The boss will raise all hands and cast a beam of fire in the shape of an arc. You can avoid this move by running and taking cover behind a column.
Teleport
When you see fire in the hands of the boss then it will use an AoE explosion attack at her current location and teleport to the other side of the arena. When you notice the fire, you need to head to the other side of the room and wait for the boss to appear. You can deal damage once the boss teleports to your new location. This time the boss will have a shield and you will need to take it down before you can deal damage to the boss.
