I have been waiting for Borderlands 3 for 5 years, 5 years… I paid 115$ plus tax to play one of my favorite games… and what I got was trash instead… I was extremely disappointed.
Why? well lets dive in…
Way too many issues at launch: sound STILL disappears after a year and a half of being out. Buggy and glitchy interface STILL after a year and a half of being out – and if someone joins your game IF IF IF someone ever joins your game the game stops almost completely. And dont get me even stared on anyone ever joining or you join anyone… the match making system is absolute dog dew… why wasnt it like in Borderlands 1 or 2 or Pre Sequel? Where you can see who is playing and join their lobby instead of waiting for it to auto match you… stupid.
Next thing is: Story… I understand we cant have handsome jack every new game or same thing as Borderlands 1 where 4 people who wanted to escape their bad lives only to wind up in a race against time to be almost killed by a giant squid… then to be fooled by handsome jack into giving him unlimited power. Then fight HJ and win. The story in BL3 is not good but it is barely okay.
Some main characters got sidelined for an extremely annoying brat who hasnt done a thing in the whole game but complain and blame others… Mayas death was ridiculous… they could have done it right with that false hope and then get crushed in the end instead of a trash touch because of Ava…
Juts like in previous Borderlands when there is a cut scene, the vault hunter doesnt do anything… in this one maybe they should have done something that matters, some sort of choice dialog or action like in Mass Effect instead of a cut scene completely ignoring the vault hunter…
In the end of the story, Ava gets to lead front lead attack on the Calypso Twins and their fortress… WHY? she has done nothing to be worthy of the role of captain… then she also gets the ship? Not the vault hunter, not Ellie, Not Brick or Mordecai or Tina… not MOXXI… but AVA! Why? They completely sidelined Tina, Brick, And Mordy for an annoying undeserving character…
I will admit DLC for season pass 1 are awesome… Moxxis Heist, Hammys wedding, the third dlc was meh,,, had that Quentin Tarantino feel to it like Sukiyaki Western Django… Kriegs DLC was amazing…
Besides THE DLCS every thing else is trash…
Melee attacks do jack monkey squat and grenades are even worse because they do same damage as the melee attack…
Singularity mods, shields, and grenades do not pull in enemies closer… thats trash.
Fastball and Storm Front are garbage… They changed weapon manufacturers and changed some weapons ie. Hellfire was a maliwan weapon in BL2 and in BL3 it is dahl… very stupid… Sandhawk is Dahl but it is now a sniper rifle… very stupid.
Gearsoy keeps constantly nerfing weapons… whenever a new event/dlc comes out, players get new weapons and mods and grenades… at first weapons are okay, then a week later gear gets nerfed into oblivion and becomes useless after farming for it for days… that is moronic… SOYGEAR.
Bosses are bullet sponges… thats about it…
Sliding, jumping, and climbing in this game is pointless… cannot dodge attack as youre jumping, sliding doesnt do anything… sliding is only useful in two scenarios… Agonizer 9000 fight and Tyrene monster fight… thats it… climbing only to certain points only for crew challenges… WHATEVER.
That is it for gameplay and story… These issues are still going on today…
Too much time was obviously spent on cosmetics… nobody needs or wants it…
And what the hell is up with legendaries dropping like flies every level…? and if they drop it is a repeat of ones that dropped already last run…
Eridian vaults are a joke… 3 to 4 chests and trash loot… at least give some good loot instead or trash… or at least Irridium and cash…
Now lets see some positives…
Music is always great in borderlands games… Visuals are good, and to actually play the game is smooth… however these are only good things compared to all the bad things in this game.
I give this game 4 out of 10… it is a really bad game… this game sucks… I tossed in the garbage… that is how bad this game is… I watched designers cut and it is pathetic… they brought back Axton and Salvador…. why? so they can commentate? That is stupid… theyre trying to climb out of the shit filled hole they dug up ad shit in it afterwards and now trying to climb out but they cant… this game is trash… it is absolute trash compared to BL1 and BL2… even pre sequel is better and I dont like it that much…
